Some people don't like people who post idiocy on social media, on top of this some people don't like rich people who post the cool crap they get to do while being rich and stupid, and wearing stupid hats. On top of this he is being paid by donors and hasn't done anything to earn his money that he is flaunting. I can tell you personally, that if I posted something on social media I would reflect on how it makes me look and whether I would look a rich *******, especially if I was fleecing an entire fan base. I don't personally care about him taking a break but he doesn't need to make it public as if people care what he does, especially in a stupid hat. We only care because the program is cratering, not because we like him. Even if we were 12-0, only a loser would be happy that coach was at a horse race. Hell, Cignetti just said he did one fun thing after winning the national title, and him and his staff went back to work.

I thought him going to the Bud Crawford fight in Vegas during the season, the week before the Michigan game, was a bad look.

Nah, not even close. Trump works his *ss off and is actually accomplishing things and getting sh*t done. Rhule not so much.
I could care less what he does in his down time. Everyone needs it. It’s just the overall bad optics of this particular thing that is rubbing people wrong. Just very tone deaf, as usual from Rhule.

When you haven’t won and you haven’t looked good doing it- maybe it’s time to stay low profile. Yes, it’s his own time, but showing off by going to all these high profile events even during game weeks just looks bad. Spending a bunch of money you really haven’t even earned yet is poor self awareness

Look, I can't stand the guy and thought it was a bad hire from the start. But he earned the money. He earned it because someone (trev and then the new guy) thought he was worth it. That is on them, not on him.
He should take every penny he can possibly get. Just like a fireman would...even though neither of them are really accomplishing much.
This reminds me of a time our CEO drove his yellow Ferrari to the office on a Friday that we laid off 250 people from our corporate office. Nobody cared that he had a yellow Ferrari. It was publicly known that the guy made millions. Good for him.
But, maybe, I don't know, on that particular day, drive one of your (many) lower profile cheaper vehicles to park in your assigned parking spot right out in front of the office that all 250 people had to walk right by on their way toward unemployment.

And yeah, that guy ended up getting fired as he took the company into bankruptcy.

Most of these places you see coach Rhule at he’s talking to the money donors, yeah the optics don’t look good to us fans but in today’s world he needs all the money he can get, unfortunately Nebraska doesn’t have a mark cuban with a open checkbook
