I don't believe this situation has been discussed around here. Like many golf fans, I've always liked Kooch......but even though he finally said publically he was going to pay the Mexican caddy his "demands", it's hard to imagine this situation won't stick to him for at least awhile.
JMO, I think he'd be well advised to pay El Tucan the full $130K his full-time guy would have earned for the win (rather than the $50K the caddy asked for). Obviously, easy for me to say that......but Kooch is going to be around for awhile, and it seems to me sending El Tucan an even bigger olive branch would help blunt some of this self-induced criticism. Cheap just isn't a good look for a successful Tour pro.
I've heard/read MK's current annual income from all sources exceeds $10 million; obviously, he's not going to make that for the rest of his playing career. But with that kind of current income stream, something like this $130K strikes me as a relatively small price to pay to call off (to at least some extent) these fairly loud dogs.
