Matt and his guys did have a great point about Cal - In March, Cal still hadn't decided on a rotation.

We have a point guard, thru no fault of his own that is struggling and I'm being kind, going 0-fer on multiple games , and we have a senior veteran that Cal decides to go with the last 2 games of the season?

People say Cal didn't forget to coach? Cal crashed our program this year because he is so invested in playing his start players.

That isn't good coaching, matter of fact its incompetent coaching. He essentially did a hail mary on the last game of the season.

If he believes he did everything he could to win this year, then he needs to be coaching at some community college somewhere, because that's the performance he turned in this year.

And the reality is, that's the performance he's been turning in for awhile, and he lost the ability to bring in and retain players that can overcome his coaching deficiencies.

Cal said after 10 years he'd be done here. He knows it, everyone knows it. But he isn't going to walk away from that paycheck until it becomes unbearable for him.
If he had any shame, he would apologize for this year. He won't beause he doesn't. He'll just keep spewing the same old lines that mean nothing and hope people forget how bad he was at coaching this year.

Sure he should apologize for keeping his players safe from the covid while trying to play basketball.

We were out talented?! How many 5 stars did we have again? No, we got out coached.
Took 20 games to figure out that Sarr is a face up shooter and is not a low post center. And Mintz should’ve been the PG all year, which would’ve allowed Allen more playing time. This would’ve improved our offense a ton by having multiple shooters on the floor but we wasted the whole year with Askew. Terrible coaching.

Whst worse, is Cal did the same thing to Skal in 2016. Tried to turn him into Patrick Ewing, when he was built to be Kevin Durant.

The guy is f*cking hard headed.

I think you missed the point. Cal is not good enough at bench coaching to win without extraordinary talent. Doesn’t mean he or anyone else will necessarily win with great talent.
Seem to be a pretty good coach at UMass and I don’t think they had top recruits banging down the door exception being Camby

Hysterical!

Yeah, no one else in the ncaa had to deal with covid protocols...

When you get done fingering Cal's basketball sack, and suckin on yer fingers, can you please not post on here with the same digits? He's not going to give you an allowance for it...

Cal's last 3 classes were ranked where nationally? Bottom 3rd of college basketball according to you, right? Cuz the record reflects it...

You're so far the prince of circular arguments on this thread. Can you chase your tail one more time for our entertainment, or have you cracked your head on Cal's brick mailbox already?

Good Lord, man. Get off Cal’s nuts already! He’s NOT a good bench coach anymore. Years ago, yes. Currently, **** no!
Cal has not adapted to the times and the game is passing him by. Cal was a great bench coach at UMass and Memphis but he changed his philosophy when he got to UK because we were getting different caliber players. Cal changed to an all freshman-led approach and realized he didn't have time to design an offense or institute changes on defense because there's not enough time for that. It's literally become roll the ball out and expect somebody to make a play. It's awful basketball to watch.

It pisses me off because I know what cal can do as a bench coach. He went 4 years without a conference loss at UMASS. The money has made him too comfortable and too happy.

And obviously changed his priorities. All he cares about is getting these kids drafted. Why? To stroke his ego. Almost all of his draft picks would've been picked no matter where they went. Those kids are figuring that out now and are going to other schools.

He actually changed his bench coaching before UK.

We knew coming in he wouldn't go more than 7 deep into his bench and he didn't, unless he was platooning a 2nd set. Some of us did anyway... I thought or was hoping it was only because he was limited in the number of quality recruits he could land at Memphis.
