Every single recruit is lucky to be picking Duke. Does that mean we should never get excited about any recruit? And btw, the best high school player in the country. No need to try and downplay how big of a deal this might be.

Bingo. Not to mention the staff obviously feels the same way, otherwise they would've stayed put with what they had. They obviously felt Duke was missing a versatile inside-out scoring presence and here comes Marvin to possibly remedy that. If they liked what they had so much, they wouldn't have gone to the lengths they did to potentially bring him in.

Man those Chodes at Rupp's Crapper get really pissed. I bleed Duke Blue through and through and am a Dukie for life but damn there are other things besides Duke Athletics that make up the majority of my life. If Bagley chooses Duke that is fanstastic, if he chooses one of the other schools or hell even if he pulls a Knox and goes to UK I will be just fine in the morning. #Phsyco.

I still get a chuckle at the way haters hang on the "Lance Thomas thing" as if it is some amazingly egregious Duke "scandal". Ha haaaa. Guess they don't have many instances to cite so they have to go with Thomas or Maggette as proof to show how terrible Duke is. Lolllll.

Good research moron. If you're referring to the South Carolina game, Allen went 5-13 from the field, 3-10 from three and 7-7 from the foul line. Even you can add that up...but if not, that's 20 points.
However, I suspect you're a UK fan, and your team got beat by a walk on. Good stuff.

I agree that Duke has the potential to be strong with or without him. IMO, the potential is a little better with him, but I'm not ready to call him a savior. And I tend to look at it like you, in that, he's more lucky to have Duke than Duke is to have him...even with him being a great talent.
The excitement factor is just something that will always exist. I mean, he's being called one of the best high school players in the last decade. I know, I know....let's wait it out some and let him play a game and get comfortable with his teammates, but that's still pretty high praise and the kind of praise that's difficult to ignore. I love our team with or without him, but it'd be hard for me to say our potential is higher without him. There's lots of unknown variables with or without him in the lineup.
