hahaMan, **** all you guys that are bagging on Adrian. Kids a warrior and a damn good qc. He deserves better than this ********.

It doesn’t look like he cares either. Sideline shots after the fumbles/ints are him “ho-hum”. As long as he scores his 2-3 Tds a game he’s content.
And how would Frost know that? AM doesn’t even know what he is going to do!If Frost knows he is not coming back, just play Smothers now to get him some experience for next year. Screw the meaningless bowl game.
He is a great kid. And I like him off the field...a lot, represents our university well. But you don't know we aren't in a position to win these games without him. We lose all these games. How could someone else possibly do worse? I mean a loss is a loss.Just a great kid. We're not even in position to win these games without him.
I think you tell Adrian that in the Minnesota and Purdue games that Adrian plays the first half and Logan plays the 2nd to get him some experience. We have to find a 2 minute drill qb.If Frost knows he is not coming back, just play Smothers now to get him some experience for next year. Screw the meaningless bowl game.
he is just not a competitive person..He'll leave here with ridiculous stats, yet not a single winning season to show for it. He's the least clutch player I've ever seen.
Just curious, where on earth would AM be going? If Frost knows he is not coming back, just play Smothers now to get him some experience for next year. Screw the meaningless bowl game.
He's like a couple of our former QBs. Tommy Armstrong and Taylor Martinez. They make plays that make you say WTF? In a good way and unfortunately in a bad way.He does not play smart football.
He doesn't deserve better... Hold on to the ball. Losers find ways to loseMan, **** all you guys that are bagging on Adrian. Kids a warrior and a damn good qc. He deserves better than this ********.
That's exactly what I told my wife on that play. If he takes a hard left step a step earlier and stays low, he might duck under the tacklers and extend the ball and score. It is a lot easier to see on tv that on the field.he is just not a competitive person..
you could see that early in the game when he ran wide right and a defender came up to meet him.. he needed a couple of yards, and gave up and ran out of bounds.
that is not what eric crouch would have done, or tommy armstrong, or taylor martinez..
the kid just doesn't have that kind of juice in him, and some have seen this from the beginning of his career.
unfortunately, his head coach is blind to this, and is why we have had losing seasons for 3 years, potentially 4.
Whoever coached Adrian to get out of bounds before getting hit is as much to blame. He’s been coached to get out of bounds to avoid taking a hit. Ok, got it—that’s common sense. But what they didn’t tell him is to first get as much yardage as possible THEN go out of bounds. And sometimes you are going to have to try to get the extra yards when it’s at a critical point in the drive and probably take the hit. He only has one gear: get out of bounds before getting hit and don’t worry about maximizing yardage. That's exactly what I told my wife on that play. If he takes a hard left step a step earlier and stays low, he might duck under the tacklers and extend the ball and score. It is a lot easier to see on tv that on the field.
Someone posted that he's playing with a broken jaw which might explain his reluctance to run. If true, why would you play him? Is Smothers that bad? He definitely doesn't want to get hit.he is just not a competitive person..

At some point if we can’t win with Martinez we need to insert Smothers or Haarburg, because if we are going to lose anyway need to rep other peopleSomeone posted that he's playing with a broken jaw which might explain his reluctance to run. That's exactly the problem. He's a terrible qb when it matters. Dumb decisions on 3rd downs, in the red zone, in late-game situations. That's why he's a loser qb, that's just who he is.Kid plays his tail off. God Dammit, I wish he could do it when it mattered. Make plays when it mattered. He just can’t. I just can’t. Its just so unfortunate for everyone. I hate this so much for him, for the team, for fans. Snakebit doesn’t even begin to cover it.
I suppose you speak from experience of being a D1 QB at some point in your life, right? He doesn't deserve better... Hold on to the ball. Losers find ways to lose
He made a lot of plays last night when it mattered. The TD pass to Johnson, the TD pass to Allen, the TD pass to Flack. The 20 yard run to keep a scoring drive alive. The 5 yard TD run. The two point extra point run. Why do you think we almost beat the # 9 team? It was because Martinez made a lot of plays when it mattered.Kid plays his tail off. I'm good at a lot of things. I don't have to be a coach to know there's a lot of things wrong with this program.Name 3 things you are actually good at doing.
Bitching on a Husker message board doesn't qualify as one of the three.
He should’ve never had to be fighting for points?! Stupid first half game plan caused us to lose this game, not Martinez!!!He's a loser, no other way to slice it.
That’s funny. His play kept us in this game. Team sport g-pa. Open your eyes.He does not play smart football.
Smothers is not the answer. Regardless of who is coaching the team next year, they need to find a QB in the transfer portal.
If he had average qb skills, we'd be alright. The problem is he's actually way below average in these skills.Martinez is a great athlete playing QB that often bails our *** out when others **** the bed (OL mainly).
Martinez has average QB skills (reading a defense, scanning through options, making quick decisions), which is why when we need him most, he comes up short.
Great Athlete with average QB skills leads to great stats. The average QB skills lead to losses in close games where you are tied / trailing and need to score at the end
You think they will leave if he doesn’t? You think there is ANY confidence in who is behind him? AM is the only real P5 qb on the roster. They HAVE to hit the portal for a qb this year.I predict that if Martinez doesn’t announce after the bowl game that it is time to move on to the next phase of his life, you will see a number of TEs and WRs entering the portal - many of whom we don't want to lose. I can’t imagine the that one maybe two really good passes he makes a game can make up for the frustration those guys must have for the slow/wrong reads, not being seen when open or the bad throws on so many other plays.
i just think the kid has seen something so much worse than any football outcome will ever approach at a time in his life when he may never fix it. could be a very long struggle going up against a barrier no one can even begin to understand. God Bless Adrian and f the rest of it.
I understand it, because I lived it at a simliar age.i just think the kid has seen something so much worse than any football outcome will ever approach at a time in his life when he may never fix it. could be a very long struggle going up against a barrier no one can even begin to understand. Some valid points, but overall I think you're nuts.I think a better question is why do we run an offense that is so quarterback centric? I mean how many great pocket passers has there been in Nebraska history? I think since Eric Crouch we have ran offenses that have relied too much on quarterback play.
Why is it we have I think six scholarship RBs and are quarterback is still the most effective runner on the team? Here’s another thought, why on 3rd and short does the team snap the ball from the shotgun? I can see if they are going to run it to the edges, but straight up the middle? Just poor attention to detail from the offense as a whole.
Adrain may not play smart football, but his coach certainly doesn’t coach smart football.
Lol what? Frost needs to make a bowl to save his job. A bowl game hasn't been this important to Nebraska since the Rose Bowl 20 years ago.If Frost knows he is not coming back, just play Smothers now to get him some experience for next year. Screw the meaningless bowl game.
