Even caught a Lakers- Spurs game. LeBron dropped 35 in the loss. You lose 500.
You sure you got to “see the game”?

Thank you!! Finally a voice of reason. The mistake was in Hagans. You don’t stop and dribble the air out of the ball at half court with 6 seconds left to go in the game. It was good coaching to not call a timeout. Cal has never had to call TO in that situation because he’s had fast, smart PGs that drives the ball downhill and get to the rim. Hagans is not that type of player. He, and Quickley especially, play timid and scared of making a mistake instead of playing to win the game. Once the nerves get settled and they get more acclimated to the system, I expect the guards to take a huge leap forward after the Christmas break. Cal always has success coaching PG’s and that is the biggest glaring issue at the moment. We are playing good enough defense as it stands to win games. However, you can not go scoreless 15 straight possessions and expect to win. This is why we got curb stomped by Duke (that, and a matador defense). With the way we’re playing on offense rn, we will lose against a team that runs anything that resembles a structured offense. Why call a timeout & let the defense get set. If Roy Williams would have called a timeout in the Elite 8 against us no doubt I think we would've won. BUT they did the right thing by not calling it & pushing the ball up the floor with defense out of position they get an open jumper.
The mistake was NOT Cal not calling a TO. The mistake was Hagans not pushing the ball when we had the numbers. He's young & got scared but I think you always have the advantage after a score to catch defense on their heels. If their is more time like 20+ seconds it's a different story....call timeout.
BTW, Coach K says that's the more efficient philosophy. Just saying
Are you blind? You sure you got to “see the game”?

Don’t know why you’re telling me no when I said I don’t see what’s wrong with folks wanting Cal to call a timeoutNo.
But Jesus Christ. Everything in life--you should do as well as you can. Wasting a time out and getting a bad shot is not maximizing your opportunity. Just because it isn't a guaranteed score doesn't make it good.
Cal can coach a perfect game and we can lose. I get it. When he coaches a perfect game, we'll talk. Losing by 1 with timeouts...not really a lot of good excuses.
Are you blind?
And they were $80 too.I would be from that altitude. Hahaha

The BBN isn’t confined to Rupp Rafters and your computer. The Big Blue Mist is everywhere and the majority are optimistic.thats not the part we didnt believe
the part we didnt believe was that 50-75 people were happy with how things are going
They were mostly military servicemen and women who have a healthy respect for anything UK. A lot of them get deployed overseas and can’t catch every UK game.Sorry you had to watch such terrible basketball all weekend, but I was talking about the part where you said ‘nothing but love for cal.’
Agreed. I really have to wonder if people believe 1/2 the crap they post. If they do, heaven help them.Even more frightening.
You’re an idiot if you really believe this.
What’s your point?
Did they dribble for 20 seconds and settle for a hurried 25 foot contested three?

Yeah he’s a big dude. Just don’t have many human beings like that in the world. I haven’t been to a game there, but have been to San Antonio and everyone was great and super nice to all of us. Went an done some work with Habitat for Humanity and I hated to leave. Great people and a beautiful place. Also, i don’t know how to feel about Davis an the lakers. Lol. Maybe he would fit with them, but I kinda like him with the Pelicans. Kings are my team but I’ve kinda adopted the pels.Lol. Nah I was there. And LeBron is everything I’ve ever seen on TV. Dude is huge and fast with the ball. Almost like a pg. If they get AD, lookout.
What happens when we’re playing in the tourney and we have 0 timeouts left and we’re in the same situation? Not calling a TO was the right play. Cal got to see what Hagans is made of during crunch time. Great learning experience. Hagans will now know to push the ball all the way to the rim and try to draw a foul instead of dribbling the air out of the ball at halfcourt. You just countered your own point. When you've got a freshman handling the ball who is "young and scared" you'd better call a timeout, otherwise you might have one of your bigs tossing up an airball from 3 when you should be taking it to the hole.
You sound like you take great delight in our early season struggles, or at least that’s how you come off.
This. We have some ignorant fans when it comes to basketball knowledge. What happens when we’re playing in the tourney and we have 0 timeouts left and we’re in the same situation? So we should throw this one away so we can get Hagans some experience as to how not to eff up the end of a game? With 2 TO's remaining? And Cal even said a TO should have been called. Piss off.This. We have some ignorant fans when it comes to basketball knowledge.
Which is exactly why you call a timeout with a young, inexperienced team. They don't know what to do in that situation. A timeout gives him a chance to simplify it for them. Why call a timeout & let the defense get set. That would be too logical.Learn how losses are evaluated by the committee.
Do not question King Cal on this board. Have u not yet learned there was no such thing as Kentucky basketball before him nor will there be after.
Cal may be a magician because he has made 8+ loss seasons acceptable here as well as losing 66% of the time to ranked teams the last 3 seasons, losing 3 straight to Kansas, getting bent over by Duke.
Never would I have thought we would try to justify 3 plus years of mediocre results.
My post was in reference to LOD’s whining about Cal not calling a timeout yesterday. Few called one and lost. And no, I’m not new to sports.
People were clamoring for Cal to call a timeout at the end of the Seton Hall game. He didn’t and we lost. Mark Few called a timeout against Tennessee and they lost. The point is that timeouts are overrated and calling one or not calling one doesn’t affect the game as much as people think. Not sure if comparing Few's X and O struggles to those of Cal right now is the smartest comparison. One guy beat Duke. The other one lost by 34 to Duke.
Yeah that team about lost to Stanford as well. They were dead to rights in that game and then John Wall happenedDude, you’re way too emotional over a December loss. Hell, if not for a last second runner, John Wall would have lost his first ever game at UK against Miami of Ohio.

Did you forget that UT called a TO and drew up a play that ended up being the game winner?Drew Up a play.....and lost! [laughing]
You are trying to compare a veteran team playing their 30 something game to the season to a team playing their 9th game, that's just ignorant. Why call a timeout & let the defense get set. You probably should get out a little more. I was in San Antonio this weekend and watched the game with about 50-75 UK fans who are either stationed there or work there. Nothing but love for Cal and the Cats.

You know Gonzaga played without 2 of their top 7 players, one of which is their best all around player don't you ? Of course you don't, because you know absolutely nothing about Gonzaga.Drew Up a play.....and lost! [laughing]
