What in the entire phuck happened in here?

Tried to read trough this thread, but got punched in the face and had to visit a hospital as Tom Osborne was dying,

Pennyhusker probably had a heart attack, and I'm still hoping for the best for Marcus.

Bad deal - our key skill players are taking a tumble. Very unfortunate - wish him the best in his recovery.

Absolutely monster play he made out of our own end zone.

Those who were favoring playing Coleman are going to get a whole bunch of that.

I have zero idea on this, but he may be on the verge of a medical redshirt? That's assuming he would want to play another year. He's had a tough go of it so far this year.
He played over the RS game limit in all of his 3 seasons at TX, so he had a RS available that is now irrelevant. He could get a hardship should he want to exercise that option.

Surprised we’ve never heard Demetrius Bell’s name mentioned (or I’ve missed it).
He was a toss up between WR and DB but roster shows him as WR. Rivals 4*. Lot of good offers.
Doss, Coleman, Lloyd playing some. Turner maybe too raw still. But never hearing Bell’s name.

He's played in all six games this year. Isn't that too many to get a medical redshirt?

How does he satisfy the last requirement? He's participated in six games this year, which is 50% of the schedule.

The halfway point of the season was the end of the 4th quarter Friday night. Washington exited the game in the first quarter. Washington will not participate in more than 30% of the games. He won’t participate in 50% of the games.

Not so fast my friend....if we make the B1G Championship game, the FBS semi and play for the national title he played in 6 of 9 or 33%. I don't think the NCAA will begrudge him a measly 3%.

Washington played in six games this year. If we don't go to a bowl game, Washington will have played in 50% of the games (6 out of 12). If we go to a bowl game, he will have played in 46% of the games (6 out of 13). If we miraculously make it to the Big Ten championship game and a bowl game, he will have played in 42.8% of the games (6 out of 14).
Is it more correct to say that the player must be unable to participate in more than 30% of the games?

I don't think that is correct. According to the linked NCAA PowerPoint presentation from last year, an athlete cannot have participated in more than three contests or dates of competition or 30% of the contests or dates of competition (whichever is greater). I don't see how Washington can qualify for a medical hardship this year.

Nice try, but the NCAA doesn't count by quarters. If you appear in a game it counts. Also, playoff games are not included when calculating the 30 percent. Regular season only. Can't quote you the bylaw right now as I don't have a manual handy
