First Holgerson casualty...... Somebody got their feelings hurt.
^^This. More than coincidence that he has chosen to leave team after DH arrives. Can certainly see DH evaluating the practices since he’s been here and mentioning to the position coach that #18 isn’t showing him anything special. No block no rock. Cya.

See ya. Next guy up. Get some real talent to play WR or we will not have any more great QBs.

In dont care the reason, either in or out. Plus we have to get to 105. Just a start.

Can’t wait to see him be Wandale 2.0. Good for him
Thing about Wandale is that we all knew we were losing a stud. I don’t think we know what we are losing in this situation. Hope he goes and succeeds somewhere though.

17 year old wr coaches are a bad move. But rhule making nepo moves doesn’t surprise. Can we fire this **** soon please?
This is commonplace in business, when a young inexperienced person is put in a supervisory role they aren’t respected and people seldom listen to them.

People mentioned back in Fall camp just by watching the media footage of practices that he didn’t seem into it.
Oh well, gimme a guy who wants it.

I'd keep this in the rumor category for now. It may be true but then again.....

It sounded as though MC would not block, will be interesting to see who picks him up
Well that would be hypocritical of this staff to hold that against him considering how well the other WR's block.

It's always telling where someone ends up.

I wish he would stay but honestly with Barney, Nelson, Lloyd and the additions of Mozee, Terry and Mills, he probably didn’t see a clear path to enough playing time. Wish him nothing but the best.

That tweet disappeared. But it implied that it was Coleman's decision to redshirt to make himself more attractive in the portal.
That’s some pretty flawed logic. Not making it here, but will be a star at another school.

Will be interesting to see if this is a Wandale or Betts situation. Kid is a freak athlete, but football isn't for everyone and with his athleticism he didn't exactly dominate at the Nebraska High School level. A little interesting he didn't finish out the regular season... could mean a few things. Wish the kid the best.

SSO…HA!

I called this kid’s **** like a year and a half ago. It wasn’t a tough read.
Exactly. At this rate I'm sure the guy will be right eventually, but throwing out Coleman is gone rumors every 6 months doesn't exactly make him a guy with inside information.

And the fact we went through all this back in the spring and he stuck around makes me want to see another source confirm it.

DH is here to help HCMR get the roster down as an extra pair of eyes.

You get DH to find taxis for the problem kids and those who aren't in it to win. The guys whom it's between the ears.

HCMR gets to walk out and say it's painful and DH gets to play "Bad Cop" and trim the fat loose.

HCMR gets to keep the good will when the purge ends.

You just saw roster bloat spot #1 fall... More to come.

If you're an athletic freak that needs developed as a WR, it doesn't look to me like Nebraska is a good place to be. We're playing experienced transfers that honestly aren't that great. What would make Lloyd or Coleman think things will work out?

Lloyd was essentially a 2* kid. If anything, he’s been a success story already.

That’s some pretty flawed logic. Not making it here, but will be a star at another school.

Maybe or maybe not. He's a big athlete. He's not a polished guy who will just come in and thrive immediately at WR. If what they say about his work ethic is true it's hard to take the next step if you are not willing to put the time in.

We as fans always look at these kids with their HS star rating in mind. After a couple years on campus that thing means absolutely nothing anymore.

If I'm being honest Id be more disappointed if a 2/3 star guy like Lloyd decided to leave. He's actually made plays when given an opportunity. His work ethic is also never been into question. May not have the upside based on size but every other intangible id take him over Coleman and the speed is a wash.

So I'd say if we were losing a kid who worked hard on his craft and was more likely to reach his potential it would bother me. But if this is the case with MC and the rumors of his work ethic are true I'm not nearly as bothered.

For comparison sake what would be the difference physically between MC and a guy like Quentin Clark? I guess absolutely nothing and Clark apparently is a hard worker who is likely to put the time in to be better. I'll take the trade off. Stars be damned..

Wasn't he the one who said he was gone last spring? When he wasn't? Doesn't seem like he knows ****.
Basically said he likely wouldn't contribute and wouldn’t be surprised if he transferred out. For someone who contributed last year as a true freshman I thought it was telling … and here we are.

I don't care to look it up but I'm fairly certain he said he was gone. Could be wrong. There was a big thread on it.

"Malachi's healthy," Rhule said. "Malachi's doing great. There's no problems."

"We have these two big receivers out there that are playing well," Rhule said, alluding to transfer receivers Jahmal Banks and Isaiah Neyor. "If Malachi can have this year, he can play four games and play in the postseason, I think he would just be picking right up where those guys left off."

"Just kinda taking the pressure off of him for a little bit and letting him go compete," Rhule said. "I'm sure he doesn't wanna redshirt. I'm sure he wants to play..."

brutal, especially in context of Holgorsen's comments yesterday about coaches falling in love with certain players
FWIW, Rhule quote was said back in September..

Disappointing after he contributed his Freshman year.

I think it would be misguided to blame this on Rhule is my only point in referencing SSO’s comments from earlier this year.

Lloyd plays quite a bit. The problem is our QB finding him on deep routes. His yardage per catch is very good but he's pretty small when your OC can't scheme guys open. I'm not sure he weighs over 165lbs which makes it tough trying to block safeties.

Ok, if you're a high 4* and can't beat out Bullock then it's pretty much on you.. Times have changed, you're getting paid so no more excuses. Good luck to him.
