When do we get back to the point where opposing teams dread playing us at home? Where playing at home is actually a home field advantage again? From 1990-1999 we lost only 3 games at home. Since then home field advantage as been on a downward spiral. 2000-2009 we lost 15 home games. 2010-2018 we lost 19. Just the last 4 years alone we have lost 12.
So what is it going to take to get that back? We as fans can't do much more to help that. Granted I know the last few years hasn't exactly been "sold out" every game. I have heard from other that the student section has been pretty desolate.
So what is it that made memorial stadium so hard for opposing teams to win at in the 90s? When teams get that good does it really not matter home or away? We may not get back to that level of home dominance but I sure hope we improve drastically from the last 18 years. Memorial stadium has been a sieve of wins to the opposition.
