Making Memorial Stadium Hell

To be honest I would think the demographics changes of Nebraska would impact the noise. The Memorial stadium population of 1995 was younger and more fervent about football because frankly, there were less options for entertainment. After 25 years of losing that population has just gotten older, some have dropped out due to death or disengaging because of frustration. Just think...a 40 year old from 1995 would be going on 65 today... and the 15 year olds from 1995 have likely disengaged a bit out of self-preservation. The stadium is bigger so maybe this will make up for it...

Go back and read your posts start to finish.

Why would I need to reread my posts. I know what I was pointing out and my goal of it. I tried defending myself some and sometimes I was beat and proven wrong and some I feel I was pretty on point. Again, I don’t see a couple visits to a decent to good bowl game as being relevant or being back. I NEVER EVER said we did great or we did better then those teams or claimed other wise. Simply these other teams have struggled as well.

A few tried claiming a New Years Bowl once ever couple years to 4-6 years was achieving something, I just disagree and have a different view on it. Over the decades it was the BCS MNC game or break. If you made it there and/or won, you achieved greatness. If not, it wasn’t elite level.

Let’s be honest, even none power 5 teams can and seem to knock off the Auburn’s, LSUs, OSUs, Georgia’s and other top teams here and there...like Texas this season, they have struggled bad the past 5-6 years....as bad or worse then us and had an average to above average season this past season and managed to beat a Georgia team that probably felt deserved a playoff berth and wasn’t fully fired up. Winning that one game while playing in and doing good in a struggling BIG12 isn’t achieving greatness while whipping the struggles away from the past 5-6 years. It just means they got on track this season or two...like I pointed out...the BIG12 was just down or simply weak all together.

Here's the deal. You can be as loud sitting as standing. Does it feel better standing and jumping up and down? Does it make for good TV so I want to replicate it??? SURE.

BUT, I believe you do have to respect the people around (and especially behind) you. I have 8 season tickets. 6 are in row 1 of my section and 2 are in row 2. Granted I have good views. I am very cognizant to peak behind me. IF they are sitting, I sit. Everybody stands and yells on good plays. But to waltz up and just stand without regard to those around you..... WRONG.

That's all
To summarize,

Sit down you whipper-snappers!!

So, I never really got this...how come the polite thing to do is sit down so that the people sitting can see...how come the sitters can't be polite and stand?

Look...a play lasts about 4 seconds...the screaming before and after lasts about 4 seconds...let me check my math...that is 16 seconds of standing...then you can sit down and chill and get ready to go again.

Agree to be respectful. I don't enjoy standing all game long because the people in front of be feel like they need too. I do go to them expecting it could happen. I think if people really do go to games expecting to sit and listen to their radio the whole game. They should probably just stay home and watch in the comfort of their homes.

Memorial Stadium was hell for other teams because the home teams at the time were great. When we get a great team year after year again, teams will consider Memorial Stadium to be hell again.

I guess I don't have a problem with that. That's kinda what I do. I think where people get angry, and in my opinion rightfully so, is when they NEVER sit down.

Don't blame the students for empty seats (pre-Frost). They are an after-thought in this stadium. Money or donors are more important. Hell even faculty gets better seats than students. So unless NU is willing to put students in meaningful seats do not even think of punishing students for leaving early or not attending. That being said....they would be crazy to miss any games with this coach in charge.
