Louisville is not that good, they do not have the athletes we do, their front line sucks, and, we are quicker in the back court. Only one real advantage for them is, we play in the Bucket of Chum.
Plus, their coach could die any moment, unless he's already undead. Sypher looks a little undead. Heavy makeup?

After this game, things I expect to see...

1. U of L will take away Monk. He may get his points, but he won't get 47 points on 28 shots.
2. Pitino will do everything he can to get Fox in foul trouble.
3. Humphries, Willis, Gabriel and Hawkins won't look so lost out there against U of L's athleticism. But we need two of those four to bring their A game. Won't win without it.
4. The crowd will be on the refs from the get go.
And TJ and Benedict will whine and ***** about so much BLUE being in the lower arena!

Louisville has better defenders than UNC. And it will be on their floor and you're talking about a proud program that has had its lunch handed to it eight of nine times. Pitino will have all those guards coming at Monk hard. Monk might just score 15 points from the line.
Do you think Roy might have adjusted at halftime to slow down Monk who had 27 points. Well if you consider holding him to 20 in 2nd half then yeah. They may slow Monk down but they wont stop him

Well, they are better than the '96 Cats. Scary.

Here is Louisville's rotation, with player (minutes) and scoring average

Mitchell (28), 11.7
Snider (28), 11.0
Adel (28), 9.7
Johnson (21), 9.5
King (14), 7.9
Spalding (18), 7.3
Mathiang (19), 6.8
Mahmoud (17), 5.5
Hicks (12), 3.9

They have a lot of really good but not great players. They're deep, and Pitino can use this to his advantage if he gets the right whistle.

Maybe this is the game Bam asserts himself?

I have a feeling we will have quite a few fans there. More reasonable card fans (the quiet ones not on social media) know this may get ugly and will value $$ selling their tickets over watching in person.

If we can beat U of L, we have a very good chance of entering the Kansas game at 19-1.

Agreed! We should beat Louisville, and we owe Kansas payback from that BS game last year, but I still think we might drop 2-3 SEC games. Even if that happens we'll finish 27-4 at worst and should be a 1 seed.

I'm not worried that louisville has better players....at all. I'm worried about louisville playing above the level they have shown so far this year. I cannot see the UL guards stacking up to our guards. But I don't think that is how Pitino will play it. They won't play Monk with a guard. It will be a 3 or they will zone.

Well their already doing the usual nonsense to make them feel better about themselves.

Of course it's usually well UK hasn't played anyone...but since we beat unc, it's some nonsensical well monk won't always be that good. Okay, but maybe bam steps out. We'll UK plays no defense...well actually they do.

When we play there their crowd is terrible...they went ape **** when rape boy faked getting his jaw hit, only to find out reality. If someone even gets near someone the fans will start crying.

I dunno we could get beat, but we are better at every single position and every aspect of the game. We also have the better coach. Cal always puts in a couple new plays before the uofl game just to screw with rick. I look forward to Rick skipping the post game.

Don't even really know who is on their team. Have not seen them play but twice. The Baylor game and the Purdue game. Their centers are awful. The 2 guards are adequate but very slow. The Deng kid they talked up so much, I have not seen him do anything. They can't shoot a lick and they are guaranteed a 6-7 minute span of not scoring with our length and athleticism. It maybe a game for some time. but once we go on a 20-0 run. We should win by 20-25. They just look so ordinary. I can't envision that club being in the top 20 by Feb 1. Once they play UNC, DUke, VA, IU and us. They will be a fringe tourney team.

Then again, we won the football game and that was a major surprise. I guess anything is possible but the talent discrepancy is so night and day with what I saw

Putting a 3 on Monk is suicide. He's too fast.

U of L simply doesn't match up well with UK.
They are down talent wise, Pitino is a shell of his former self and UK is top five.

The only thing U of L has going for them is that this will be UKs first true road gm but they won't have to fly and will be able to sleep at the lodge and drive over in the morning or noon time.

UK wins this one by anywhere from 5-15 pts.

I think they stay in Louisville the night before the game.

If you are 55 years of age or older and do not or never have lived in Jefferson County, then yesterday's game against North Carolina means and meant far more than playing Louisville. Louisville will never be a blue blood. The law of averages plays out that they beat UK every once in a while. A blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while. What really matters is beating North Carolina, Kansas, Duke and winning a national championship period.

You don't have to be nearly that old. I'm 34 and don't consider Louisville anywhere near a big rival. They'll never be like U.K. in any sport, certainly not basketball. As far as football, they've been built on a sand foundation, which is why it's coming apart at the seams.

This is the game where Briscoe will shine.

He has been in hostile environments, he doesn't shy away from physical play, and he'll be in the middle against the zone.

Briscoe will foul out half of their team driving to the basket!

I agree. All the effort that will be placed on stopping Monk will open it up for the forgotten man Briscoe. He will spend the evening on the foul line and send their bigs to the bench with foul trouble.

UL may slow the game down when they are on offense but when we rebound a missed UL shot they will not be able to get back on D.

It will be a wrestling match. This is the only way U of L can win. Pitino will hope Cats get in foul trouble or the refs call nothing. I could see a little triangle and two with Briscoe having a big game catching it in the middle of the zone.

well here is my take..i believe the tards will play zone most if not all the time. a 2-3 or 3-2. the later is more like a matchup zone. they will not press, if so I will be suicide for them. we have 3 guards who will eat up any press they think of trying. their guards are to slow to try to keep up with any of the 3 starters and i'll also throw domique in there as well. their front line... although they have plenty of bigs is no danger of scoring. and I believe they will be in foul trouble a lot. we are to quick for them and you will see us get to them rim by driving on them with fox and Briscoe leading the way. when they they try to clog it up. then monk, Briscoe, willis, mulder and Gabriel will step up and bombs away. I honestly believe the tards can't score enough to beat these cats. it just isn't there. the cats will win and I say anywhere from 8 to 15 points. just because it is on the tards home floor.

I'm expecting a typical UL game. Scratchy, bitey, full court slapping type of defense. We have to stay in front of them defensively, hit our free throws and somebody besides Monk will have to score some. I expect R3P to attempt to take Monk away from the game.

I wonder what the sideshow will be? Rick flipping off a ref? Concession stand with a stripper pole?

Couple of thoughts on some responses on the subject of Lil Bro:
To some extent, I understand the thought of being over 55 living in Jefferson County and thinking beating UNC, IU, Duke is more important, but for me, having a business that finds me on campus almost daily, shutting these fools up means everything to me.

Spoke with one of my guys today who is a big UL fan; all I heard was how our bigs were going to be taken to the woodshed. He thinks our guards are better than theirs, but they will beat us around the basket.
I tried to ask questions about how could we be so weak inside but hold our own against UNC and all I got was we cheated and was lucky.
This is typical UL fans, all mouth and no substance. I have to listen to this **** everyday.
I think Briscoe will be the one they cannot deal with. He will do exactly what he did against UNC; drive, dish, rebound, defend, talk, direct and be the second muscle man besides Bam.

Fox and Monk will be themselves. Snyder will have his hands full no matter what these dumbass Card fans think. Besides being fast, his leaping is off the charts.

The one thing I want to see in this game, is that 7 ft. Egyptian Kermit looking fool run back quick in time to defend. My thinking is he will do what Derrick Character did once, just stay back and wait till they come back down to the other end.

Don't get fooled, UL is a good team. They can beat us. We must respect them and play like we did against UNC. Look at Butler; IU beats KU and UNC but loses to them.
We rebound, shoot decent, defend the 3 point line and play our game, we win 8-10 points.

No one can stop Monk of Fox . Just can't . Too fast and too athletic . UL has one advantage and it is in athleticism at the 3 and 4 spots though we are more talented there . UL will play slow stall ball IMO and UK will still win going away. UK 78 UL 64. The 3 guards combine for 55 points and Bam gets 12 and 12 .

The real key to the game, I forgot to add, will be Bam.
As much as I dislike Slick Rick, he can coach and given a few days to prepare, he usually comes up with something.
In this case, I feel he will try and find a way to get Bam in foul trouble. We are a different team without Bam.
They can't stop Fox and Monk. Slow them down, maybe, but those two will make UL pay if they get double teamed by going to the basket either scoring or passing to an open 3 point shooter.
Its Bam they must deal with. Keep him on the bench and then they sag, play zone and hack.
Derrick has to play tough as well as Gabriel.
