After this game, things I expect to see...

1. U of L will take away Monk. He may get his points, but he won't get 47 points on 28 shots.
2. Pitino will do everything he can to get Fox in foul trouble.
3. Humphries, Willis, Gabriel and Hawkins won't look so lost out there against U of L's athleticism. But we need two of those four to bring their A game. Won't win without it.
4. The crowd will be on the refs from the get go.

They can't take away Monk. No one can stop him but himself. Dream on with #1.

UL has to muck it up I think to win it. They have no one that can guard Fox or Monk. I would expect a lot of zone from the Cards. Going to have to work to get Monk free. They will double down on him.

Louisville has better defenders than UNC. And it will be on their floor and you're talking about a proud program that has had its lunch handed to it eight of nine times. Pitino will have all those guards coming at Monk hard. Monk might just score 15 points from the line.

Louisville is not that good, they do not have the athletes we do, their front line sucks, and, we are quicker in the back court. Only one real advantage for them is, we play in the Bucket of Chum.

I would like Monk to get 15 at the line. They will be using third stringers halfway through the second half if that happens.

We are probably going to be a little tired and emotionally drained after this epic game. It will be interesting to see how our team responds.

Louisville can only win with a gimmick, and will do what they always do and try to turn it into a rock fight, a typical ugly chippy Louisville game. They will zone hard and half-court it to death and do everything in their power to stop Monk.

Yeah, I think Monk better be honing his FT skills before the UL game as he will, no doubt, be on the free throw line often if Pitino follows his typical plan of mugging. Then, again, maybe refs won't call the fouls in the YUM.

I think that if UL zones us, for a lot of the game, it will slow down the game some. If UL cannot use pressure to create offense, then they struggle to score, and I don't think they can pressure Fox. Unless they get a bunch of 2nd chance pts and we shoot poorly, we beat them by 12-14 pts.

The Louisville game will be a war just like it always is. Look for a close game to be decided in the final couple of minutes.

But UL can't throw it in the ocean so we will just need 70 or so to get the W.

Rick's already found the blueprint for beating Cal at UK. Face us in a down year right after our point guard's father suffers a stroke. Then get some home cooking from the refs.

That's all UL has to do to bury us.

Er...win by 3.

This sounds like the same thing some said about UNC and UCLA "they don't have the athletes, can't run with us, who can guard his or that guy". In reality this will be a tough game and they young cats first road game. UL doesn't have one guy who can take over but they have 6/7 guys who can each score 10 points and two that can go above that by a couple points. They also are a very good physical defensive team. This will be a hard fought game

Cmon, 3 out of their starting 5 will either patronize a *****, shoot a *****, get shot by a ***** or all of the above. Syphilis Rick better lock his team into an interstate Red Roof Inn till Wednesday.

Gimmick is another word for coaching strategies/game plans

This will be a battle and it should be. Rick will go all out and come up with a great game-plan. They are very good at home.

Now with that said I think UK comes out with a 7-10 win.

Seriously though. Since Cal got to UK the only regular opponent I can think of that has a worse record against us than UL is Mississippi.

Am I missing anyone?

I was waiting for this. Your comment is spot on, UL, on their best day, can't get 70 against a team like UK. They can get 70 against McNeese State, but not against athletic teams like UK.
I also don't see UL holding UK to under 70. They don't have the athletes.
UK by 10.

UL will muck up the game with the constant grabbing and their patented boring zone defense and slow the game down (which is smart of them to do). THe problem for UL is can they score in the 70's on UK with their putrid offense. And even if you play better defense...UK is scoring at a crazy pace...Can UL hold UK into the 60/70's?

Pitino is the best coach in the country at taking away one player. I wouldn't be surprised if he played a box and 1. Monk needs to drive the ball because they have no one who can stay with him if he does. BAM should also have a big game as their inside guys are weak and foul prone.

They go gimmick defense. We will probably see monk in the rotation and Willis play a little more. If Willis, Monk, and Gabriel can hit the 3 it might get ugly. Roy came out of his zone quick. Just don't think UofL has anyone that can guard monk gimmick defense or nor. The gimmick d that Kansas pulled on us second half last year worked because willis got in foul trouble and Ulis couldn't get inside rhe zone. Then IU tried it and Willis does a know show and we had no answer for Bryant. U go a box and one on on this UK team u run the risk of it not working cause we have alot more scorers this year.

U of L simply doesn't match up well with UK.
They are down talent wise, Pitino is a shell of his former self and UK is top five.

The only thing U of L has going for them is that this will be UKs first true road gm but they won't have to fly and will be able to sleep at the lodge and drive over in the morning or noon time.

UK wins this one by anywhere from 5-15 pts.

Substitute Monk for Lamar Jackson and you have the UK-UL football game pregame talk perfectly reversed.

Cats going to need to bring it against UL. Don't get too cocky like the Cards did.
I don't see any similarities in this situation. WTH does Louisville have that we have to be afraid of loosing?
