Caleb is gone - Griffith takes his spot.

I’m not sure if we have one open scholly or if we have to open two.

If it’s two.

Terry prob goes back to being a walk on and one of jalen Dean Oskar gets the “talk”.

Unless cliff goes to G league or overseas but I think he stays one more

I’d be shocked if paul doesn’t come back. Cliff is probably closer to 50/50 and depends on what kind of NIL deal we can get him.
Mulcahy already has a degree from Rutgers .He is working on a Masters degree.Cliff is a junior with another year of eligibility taking a engineering curriculum.Fans want both to return but nobody including coaching staff knows their future plans.

Imagine going to play your company basketball team vs IBM and seeing Myles Johnson & Cliff trot out on the layup line.

Could be misremembering but I thought I remember reading Cliff is on track to finish his degree this year.

I worked with a guy who played on Penn states basketball team. Dude was like 6’10. We hung a picture above his desk of draymond Greene when he was at Michigan state dunking on him. Added a nice little caption to it as well. He was a good sport.

Is the "talk" a real thing? I can't believe a coach, especially Pike, would try to convince a kid to transfer out. After recruiting, developing, and supporting the kid on and off the court, the "talk" would be pretty outrageous to me as a player, a parent, and I'm sure that word would get out that the coach would cut you loose if he recruited over you.

If Gavin is as good as some expect, he’s likely starting next year with Mag or Hyatt to the bench?
One replaces Caleb.

And then the next year with Ace and Dylan coming in and starting. We are rapidly approaching over recruiting bench players and bringing in immediate starters each year.

5 star Top 20 recruit Gavin is coming off the bench?
I’ll believe it when I see it.

Until I guy shows me he can defend high screen or get out on shooters I only use #2 pencils with a full eraser.

If Mag is healthy he starts. Period. If Cliff and Paul and Cam are here they start.

That does leave one open spot for a player who has the skill set that Gavin has on paper.

Pike seemed pretty proud of the fact that everyone came back this year and that RU was one of the few programs not to have anyone transfer out. If only Caleb leaves, aren't we one over at this point even assuming Terry is not on scholarship next year? I think the list above is missing Miller.

I don’t think Pike will try to tell a player they need to leave, but he likely will be having honest conversations with a couple players about how they are unlikely to see regular minutes and if that is what they are looking for he would support their decision to look for other options

I can't imagine Mag isn't a starter. Caleb is leaving, and if Mag went to the bench, the defense will take a massive hit

Paul Cam Gavin Mag Cliff would be a very very dangerous team

Simpson and Davis backing up the guards

Hyatt Chol Ndongo wings

Wolf and Dean bigs

Miller and Oskar at the end of the bench if they remain

Pike has said many times, “We play the best, and we are fair to the rest.”

100% a real thing.

Some coaches are prob more ruthless then others.

But let’s use Oskar for example. Take away the Minnesota game. He’s done nothing in what 3 years. He is going to graduate (I think). I don’t think pike will flat out be like “get lost” but it would probably me more. “Listen, you’re not going to play much here and it’s your last season, if you wanna get more PT, going down a level might help”

Cliff is no longer an engineering major and he’s graduating this year.

I'm not sure if Oskar still has a guaranteed scholarship next year?

He has an odd scenario coming in 2nd semester of the 19-20 season so this is his 4th year if you count that first "half" season

Really? I can't imagine a coach saying that. Players aren't stupid. They know where they stand regarding PT. If a coach said that to me, I'd think he thought I was an idiot.

Mag will 100% start unless he tore his acl which usually takes about a year to recover from. Justin Moore on Villanova tore his Achilles in the elite 8 last year and just came back last week. Let’s hope that’s not the case for mag.

I can't imagine coaches NOT having candid discussions with players about their role on the team and future development/prospects on the team

That would be coaching malpractice IMO
