Man, come on, Pack! Scratch out one of two against the whistlers and hopefully we'll meet you in the finals.

I wish we could give them a few of our vaccinated players. Anything to keep Vandy out of the championship with pitching intact.

Depends if they're vaccinated. Terrible and heartbreaking if they did their part to be responsible and still caught it anyway. If, however, they selfishly let the team down by refusing vaccination, they're getting what they deserve and the coach is an idiot for putting them on the CWS roster, knowing the rules about testing.

I don’t think you can call someone selfish for refusing a vaccine that is now showing that it’s safety profile isn’t all that safe.
And yes, I got the vaccine. And no, I definitely would not let my daughter get it.

Well, by this time they have all had the opportunity to get fully vaccinated. If they are breakthrough cases I feel sorry for them. If they chose not to be vaccinated, then I don't.

So here's my question.... Why have they not had the vaccine??? I don't care if your for it or against it, but you know this could happen. The coach knows, the AD knows.... Why are they not vaccinated? John Rham, some NBA player missing the playoffs.... I don't understand if your in sports, why you wouldn't have had it done by now when you know at any point in time without you could be shut down... Makes no sense... This is not to discuss pro or con of the thing if thats possible.

It's safe. Look at the numbers.

to be completely abolished. Keeping kids from playing in a game they've dreamed about their whole life over testing positive for a virus with a 99.8% cure rate and massive vaccinations is complete and total ********. Worked their *** off all season and their whole careers to get to this moment then this. 17 the NCAA to hell and back. Keep in mind, 20,000 spectators can walk in and sit shoulder to shoulder yet the players, the reason for the game, are the ones to be singled out.

(Edit to add... If the rumors are true. But actually 17 the NCAA either way)

Do we know that they weren’t vaccinated? I’m fairly certain that it’s been established several times that the vaccine effective rates aren’t about preventing the contraction of the virus. They’re about lessening the severity of the symptoms if/when one does contract covid

The science is out there. The vaccines are very effective at preventing infection too.

We don't and should reserve judgment until we know for sure.

However, if it turns out they did refuse vaccination, they let their team down in the same way a player who smokes pot and then isn't allowed to play lets his team down. They knew there would be testing, they knew what the consequences would be if they tested positive.

If you are OK with being vaccinated, then yes, you should be vaccinated by now. However, if you are like me and hesitant about it, especially for my children and my relatives who are college age, then no. It's a private choice. I know the arguments that it's not a private choice because it affects others around you, but it's a private choice because of potential health concerns.

If a player wants to ignore math and science and be hesitant about it, that's his choice. But the AD and coach should have left his silly *** of the Omaha roster, knowing the risks and consequences of a positive test. I hope and assume Lemonis and Cohen would have done that.

I suspect Lemonitis and Cohen made sure that the team and coaches all got vaccinated. All part of the plan to stay safe and win this thing.

No, it is not a "private choice"

That is only said by people with no better way to defend their actions. It is a selfish, stupid choice.

You’re kidding right? They’re in the segment of population that is likely to suffer most from the vaccine:
https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/23/cdc...t-inflammation-after-covid-vaccine-shots.html

EVEN IF THEY ARE VACCINATED, IT DOESN'T MEAN THEY WONT GET THE VIRUS!
(typed in all caps so you vaccinated mf’ers will realize your godsend isn’t what you project it to be!)

You're talking about one in a million stuff that isn't even established to be causal. Si far all the rumored scary stuff has turned out to be fake.

Even if it is, though, that's less dangerous than getting in a car, and anyone who is too scared to ever get in a car would be laughed at.

That's right it was this kid's choice. His private choice.

And he made the WRONG choice.

That's baseball.

does not make one any less responsible for their actions.

Maybe Bc they have a choice and the vaccine isn’t proven “safe” yet.

I wanted my parents to take the vaccine. The risk/reward at 65 ish and their health is worth the risk of the vaccine.

But if you think the vaccine is 100% proven safe over the long run you are dumb or naive or both.

In a year if the vaccine is working and no known side effects, I’ll most likely get it. But I’m not getting it now unless I see some reward for taking that risk.

Again, if you see zero risks, you are naive dumb or both.

You do know your chance of getting that complication is greater with COVID than with the shot, right? It can also be very sever with COVID. There were multiple college athletes that missed entire seasons with it. You are correct that you can still get it, but your chances are much less.
