Listening to the Sources Say podcast, and based on what they are saying, everyone at Duke and UK were of the mind it was going to be UK, and then over the next few hours it did a 180. Very fishy. They talked about a guy called Tipton Edits, sorry but I don't know who that is, and that he is one of the 3 people who know what Lively is going and he won't tell.
OK YEAH THATS NOT WEIRD AT ALL

honestly I think Lively is overrated and I'll take Bona who plays with a chip on his shoulder and is stronger . but Lively is better defensively and can hit the face up jumper some. I think in year one, Bona will be able to rebound and bang inside better than lively and if you already have stars like Sharpe and Livingston, Bona would definitely do well with them. if and thats if we get Bona or someone comparable to him, imo its no real huge deal of missing on Lively outside of Cal losing a player to Scheyer ....yuck

I agree 100%!! People are saying Bona isn’t tall enough, that we need a 7 footer, blah blah blah. Nobody tell them that Anthony Davis and Bona are the same height, it would kill em! 😂

At the college level a big bodied bruiser down low is plenty. Becomes more of an issue in the pros.

I agree!
I personally couldn’t care less about what they do after they leave here. I like to see them do well in the pros though, simply because of recruiting. Bam has made a living being a big bodied bruiser down low though!

It's not sounding like we get Bona either from some things that I have heard.
That would totally suck to hold out hope for Lively and him choose Duke and then put all the eggs in the Bona basket and him choose somewhere else. Then that would definitely sound like recruiting hasn’t changed much at all as its been lately with the bigs!

Is there any chance Oscar T comes back for a senior year? Haven’t seen anyone mention this possibility. I know it’s UK, and the chances of someone like Oscar coming back for a senior year are slim. However, it’s not like Oscar is a surefire lottery pick either.

Better chance that Collins comes back as a Soph.

I don’t expect to get either one back.

Rivals is the only service that has him anywhere near this low though. 247 has him at 10, On3 has him 13, and ESPN has him 17. I’m not an expert, but everything I’ve seen of him looks very five-starrish to me.
So how does that make him a better fit yhan Lively (it doesn’t)?.

When you’re young, "the best fit" would be the best players and Lively is >>> Bona. It's really that simple and trying to justify losing Lively by saying Bona is a better fit, is ridiculous.

That’s not true at all. I’ve read many posts, although mostly on HOB wondering is Bona was the better fit. Many were saying we need to take Bona now and then take our chances with Lively assuming he’s deciding late.

I don’t see anyone saying we never wanted Lively, I’d take him in a heartbeat. However myself and many others openly thought Bona was a better fit for 1 year of college all along.
You’re twisting my words, I NEVER SAID someone claimed they "didn't want Lively" . where the hell did you get that from? I said they're trying to justify the recruiting loss by saying Bona is a better fit.

1) I am not crying about anything, I'm simply calling out typical RR behavior

2) I don't give a rip about recruiting class rankings, means nothing, you don't hang banners for that

3) you totally missed the point of my post… twice. You get the dunce of the night award

4) We can play the what-if game all night long, but up until these duke picks, Lively was the talk of the town on here and everyone was giddy at the thought of getting him. He is a top 5 stud player that can play inside and out, trying to downplay it and act like Bona is the better fit, is wrong on so many levels.

5) if Lively picks UK, all these guys will say something totally different, it's just how it goes on here

EVERYONE STAND UP AND AN APPLAUSE FOR CAPTAIN OBVIOUS

people on the board will be sour grapes. Thanks for pointing that out. Also, you dont know if Bona is a better fit cause he hasnt signed and if he does he hasnt played a game. Also, take the rankings and throw them out the door. This is not sour grapes. Skal looked better than Lively. Who gives a damn. Is a power 5 - 5th year senior center from the portal a better fit? Not talking talent now. You said bona isnt a better fit. You dont know that, no one does bub cause we havent played a game.
So you are pointing out RR behavior. again standing ovation !!!!!!! thanks wish I could I forecast the obvious like that. Cheers bub :)

Are you high? None of this **** makes any sense. You obviously aren’t reading my posts, but maybe you are and you just don’t understand what's being said. You can't be further off right now.

I have to say it doesn’t a genius to scroll back 3 days and see everyone spooging over Lively snd now he’s over rated. That’s what my four year old does. Literally.

Uhh…Nowhere in that post did I say I thought he was a better fit. I don’t think he’s a better fit. I was simply saying that Rivals was there only one who ranks him as low as they do. I think Lively is the better player. I just don’t think Bona is a huge step down. He IS a step down, but it’s not like we’re replacing AD with Sacha Killeya-Jones.

It was Dariq Whitehead that tweeted he had just had a chat with Lively and said something like let’s see how this goes BBN with a bunch of laugh emojis. Some figured he was just stirring the pot including myself but maybe Livey really told him he was coming
What a jerk, well Mr. Whitehead I had a premonition and you sir are going to slip on some Gatorade and be out for 6-8 weeks with a high ankle sprain. How ya like them apples?

And you’re ignoring what I said. Quite a few were openly saying that well before lively to duke came about. Bona very well may be a better fit .😂

From everything I have read, Bona is nowhere near the player Lively is.
This is just dudes on RR trying to justify the recruiting loss. Just take the L and move on.

Yea they were. It’s not untrue just because you don’t like it and it doesn’t fit your narrative.

Biden supporter?
I don't give two ***** about politics and you're a dipshit for bringing politics into a friggin' college basketball discussion. Get a grip.

Nobody that I have seen said anything about Bona being a better fit than Lively BEFORE these latest developments. Maybe someone did, but I haven't seen it.

You can't deny what happens on here every time we lose a recruit. You just can't.

Get it over with: Monday, Sept. 20 at 6pm ET.

And so it begins, Lively is about to take the number one spot from Sharpe.
When listening to Biancardi and a couple other recruiting guys they sound like Sharpe only got the top spot because of Duren and Bates moving up (which I understand) and that it wasn’t really earned. The kid went off during the summer so I was kinda taken aback when he said it. But they all raved about Lively

Better chance that Collins comes back as a Soph.

I don’t expect to get either one back.

I think there is a decent chance for either (Collins or Oscar) returning.

Why?
Look at Cockburn this summer, 7'0 AA post-player, and there was not enough NBA interest for him to stay in the draft. So unless Oscar can play outside some, at least defend outside, then I don't see him having more than 2nd round interest by NBA teams (& even 2nd round is far from a guarantee).
Oscar is going to have a tough time getting minutes this year IMO, and may be in the 10-15mpg range, possibly less. That does not mean he can't be drafted, even high. BUT what is going to hurt him is the lack of strength. Even IJ is a good bit stronger than Collins. I think teams will look at him as a guarantee 1st year in Dev-league player. That is NOT what they want to invest a high pick on. So for him I think best case he goes in mid-20's. But with another year under his belt and in the weight room, I think he could move all the way into the top 10 just by waiting 1 year. That is a huge leap and much bigger paycheck just by waiting 1 year.
So I would give both say a 50% chance to return, which if their decisions are independent of each other would mean 25% chance both return, 50% change 1 of the 2 return, and 25% chance neither return.

When any recruit chooses the frauds in durham, I immediatley lose respect for them. Bash me if you want. That school is eat up with hypocrisy. Eat up with elitist snobs and anyone who chooses to join up with them becomes one of them.

I can't stand the fakeness of them or their facade of integrity and character.

Call it whatever you want, sour rapes, petty, childish. Don't care. That's who they are and that's how I see it.

LMAO, you seriously think there's a snowball's chance in hell that either of those guys returns?
I think you can count on one hand the number of highly ranked 5* kids that came back to UK for year 2 and if you're counting how many highly rated kids that returned to UK for their junior year, you can cut a couple fingers off and STILL be able to use that one hand to count.

All depends on how he plays this year.
