I agree, but I will say I want Lively AND Bona. I think Lively is perfect at the 4 for us in a 4 out system. The way he shoots the ball would make him a great stretch 4 for us.
But as a pure 5, I think Bona fits better.

Like I’ve been saying from the beginning, we’ll be fine with either of Bona or Lively. Different skill sets but both elite players. IMO, we will have a sophomore Collins as well. Not that worried about this.

The good thing about both Lively and Bona is they can play the middle or as a more mobile 4.

Well, Graf is keeping his FC for Lively to duke. However, his source is saying it’s 50/50 duke/UK and that Lively is telling the duke guys that he doesn’t know where he’s going yet. Sounds like smokescreens to me. I don’t think UK is completely out here.

I can’t help but agree with this. I’m not speaking about Graf. I’m speaking of the player. At the same time, I’m not so sure it’s a definitive deal either way. On the flip, I think we get Bona regardless. I just hope we didn’t wait too long for his liking.

We do have PTSD, on one hand we have the super class and early decision which we wanted. Early reports that UK was probably it. On the other hand we have the Bona visit and he either committed and Lively decides Duke. Or They made him a hell of an offer a K is pulling a Zion on UK again.
I’m not going to lose any sleep over losing Lively. I am high on Bona and think he will fit in well with Clark, Sharpe, and Livingston. Get Bona and Wallace and it’s all good.
I know the running joke when losing a recruit is to say "we didn't want him anyway," but honestly this is legitimately one of those situations where, if Lively goes to Duke, our consolation prize (hopefully) could actually be better for one year in college. Lively has the higher ceiling, but right now if you asked me who I would want between two, assuming I only get them for one year in college, I might choose Bona. Just need to make sure to lock him up if Lively goes elsewhere.
Graf is a straight shooter. He doesn’t BS. He basically said it just feels off to him so he’s leaving his pick for now.
It’s kinda how I feel honestly. There are people saying things both ways but it just feels like it did the last few times Duke was screwing around just to be the wieners they are.
I've seen what Graf and Branham said about their Duke picks and some other good info, and I still can only come up with Lively picking UK. We'll find out soon enough.
I was high on him too until I saw he's only a 4 star on Rivals. Not that's a horrible thing, but compared to the #2 overall player..it stings..
The logic of him announcing now still points to UK, especially after the visit with Bona. Recruiting just doesn’t always make sense. I wouldn’t be surprised either way at this point.
If we’re looking at one of the 2 at the 5 position (which is how it seems) and having Livingston at the 4 along with whoever returns, then Bona is the better 5 fit imo. I think he would be a fan favorite as he’s physical and wants to dunk everything.
I should have elaborated more on what I meant. I’ve felt Lively was Duke’s all along, but the UK smoke just before he announces for Duke is just taking advantage of how actively our fan base follows recruiting. The recruiting experts need to be relevant. What better way than stir the UK hornet’s nest, even when we aren’t even a leader for a recruit. Same happened with Zion. We weren’t seriously in that, but let’s get the fan base going for a week.

Another thread OP says smells like Antiqua and how he organized Randles commitment. For me it seems when its going to be Duke, we kinda expect it. Knox was a twist for us and Zion to Duke was a good sneak attack cause the were the highest bidder. When its unknown I really could give two nuts what some insider says. They know as much as we do, which is nothing. Also, how sad would it be for Duke to get Lively to push up his date just to stop Kentucky's win streak. Are they that pathetic ? Duke has their center locked up. We have no center commitment. Calipari is around philly, out of no where Lively sets his commitment date. All things being considered I kinda feel Kentucky has the momentum. even if no lively if we land bona and Wallace I still think we have the better class. Traore kid shot up from no where he is even available if Calipari feels we need to. Filipowski is already going to Duke. I mean could a kid going to Duke actually make Kentucky better? Is Boner if we get him would he have better chemistry ? You really dont know. We lose out to newman only to land Jamal. So yes its not always sour grapes, just sometimes things pan out for the better long term. Maybe lively signs pro next May. Who knows. I dont. You dont. So just be happy and optimistic. Who ever suits up for Kentucky is who im supporting.

Maybe hes a skal maybe a kid ranked 49 ends up being the best. you can sit and cry that we potentially lose out to lively or move on and make the best of the situation. With or without Lively i still think UK comes out with the best class. Okafor on paper was supposed to be better than Kat. Maybe missing out on Lively allows us to snag the best center in the portal. Yep. Looking like they will have Flip and Lively. Duke sold him on playing across from him and they have a pretty good friendship. UK will finish with Bona and Wallace.

He is a top 5 stud player that can play inside and out, trying to downplay it and act like Bona is the better fit, is wrong on so many levels.
5) if Lively picks UK, all these guys will say something totally different, it's just how it goes on here
