The IHL policy says you have to be fully vax'd by Thanksgiving... Leach would have to get his first shot by next Thursday or will be applying for an exemption and could have the same situation as Wazzu just had.

Imagine getting to choose whether you put something in your body or not. What a novel idea.

And I don't know when you went to State but I can promise you there were MANY, MANY people carrying around preventable diseases.

The Hunt Club has entered the chat.

I see there are some here who do not like the cases are dropping and no cases at your daughters school. It's almost like they want Covid to stick around. Weird

I hope none of you ever cried about fascism during the last four years because that’s all this is: the government getting private companies and other organizations to do the job they know they can’t.

Unless it was different during the summer, a vaccine is not required to travel to Europe so it may not tell us anything.

I'm no international vaccine law expert, but from what I read at the time, it was mandatory for Americans to visit the UAE at the time he went to Dubai, so that should close the book on this silly question.

“Preventable”?? That’s dumb even for you.

I remember when I almost went to State, but they wanted me to get booster shots before they'd let me enroll...no, wait, I DID get those shots to attend State. Wild. You mean that this isn't the first time in history that people wanted some reasonable assurance that you weren't carrying around some preventable disease before gathering en masse? Crazy...

No vaccine prevents you from getting covid. Nor do they truly “prevent” MMR, etc.

The fact that so many vaccinated people still get sick shows just how stupid you seem to be. In many cases, their symptoms aren’t even mitigated and they are still seriously sick.

Keep tuning into Anderson Cooper Tonight, tho….

Don’t get too comfortable on that high horse, young man.
If you still don’t understand the reasonable concern of long term data on the vaccine, you’re nowhere near as reasonable as you think you are.

Well, I'm just going with the healthcare experts here. My EE training didn't afford me much medical knowledge. CDC calls it one: https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vac-gen/imz-basics.htm; of course they are part of the government that is trying to subjugate everyone.***

My OP was literally referring to the fact that I had to get a booster, to enter MSU, for vaccines that I had in infancy and early childhood, i.e. it wore off, so I don't see a difference really. I don't much care what you call it if it prevents disease and it's "free" to me. (<--yes, I'm all too familiar with paying taxes and the non-existence of truly "free" things)

It's more of complete bewilderment that otherwise intelligent people are suddenly afraid of modern medicine. I literally (calling Literally Police) can't wrap my mind around it. And it's incredibly sad because people who can't articulate exactly what freedoms are being stripped from them, are convinced that it is happening, even unto death.

We are all expecting you to give us an update when the Covid Vaccine stops people from being infected and stop if from being transmissible.

I will go ahead save everyone decades of wondering - it ain’t happening

The fact that you keep talking when you don't even know what a vaccine is says nobody should listen to anything you say.

No the lying is coming from chalking every damn sickness up to COVID. I heard on the radio the other day that there was a record low flu season last year! BS! The flu didn't just go away. You are the one with your head in the sand bro. Wake up. I think people are so contrite about getting it is because they don't like the government telling them what to do. IF this truly is a free country then everyone should have a choice on whether or not to get it. It has been shown that you actually have a higher risk of having complications from the vaccine than actually getting COVID. Also they probably have a hard time justifying getting an experimental vaccine that was formulated for the original strain(Which is GONE NOW) and is not effective against Delta. AND I checked the death rate again today in the US for COVID. It sits a 1.6 17'n PERCENT!! My question is why are people so onboard with getting jabbed with something when they can still get COVID?

Lots and lots of vaccines, probably most, require some sort of booster program.

This all day. Vaccines don’t allow you to still suffer from what it’s supposed to protect you from. Does it lessen the effects? Yep. But the vaxxed still spread the virus just like the unvaxxed. But those people get a pass because they are good comrades. Too bad it’s no longer hip to #resist.

I don't believe this one second.
The mandate is real. Your daughters school (probably Jackson Prep or some other similar place) is lying. They are not testing, people are coming to school sick, cause parents refuse to understand the issue. Head in the sand. Trust me, covid has been there. If you don't test for it, doesn't mean it wasnt there.

Why are people so contrite about this? Get the damn vaccine.

Trust me covid has been there. Listen to yourself man. Just look around. Live. The shot isn’t do or die.

Do you wear seat belts, even when it's possible to still be injured or die in a car wreck even when wearing one?

Yes? So you do understand the concept of lowering risk even when it doesn't literally go down to 0.

Oxford University has a study you should read before making statements like you just made. It's not Facebook or cnn but those guys know a little. Or, just check out the graph for US vaccine deaths for the last twenty years on the CDC's website.

You know who else thinks they are great. My Aunt who had Polio and had to endure many painful surgeries as a child growing up because of it. Salk's vaccine would come out the next year.

Cookie cutter response. Lotta folks messed up while figuring it out buddy. I know more people who have died, stroke or another injury from the vaccine than covid. My experience may differ from others. Its way to early in the ball game to be mandating something that isn’t that effective at this stage, especially in kids. Yall have at it.

Who in the world on here isn't happy that cases are dropping? Find one post by anyone in this thread stating that less COVID is bad. I'm quite pleased that I can pretty much live like normal now. I'll get a COVID booster and rest easy that I've done everything possible in my power to protect myself, my family, and particularly my friends, and family, with cancer and other immune-compromised issues, who can't take it and can ill afford to get it.

If you don't understand that I'm not so selfish as to hide behind potential long term health risk rather than help keep some of my less fortunate friends and family safe from a real and immediate threat today, then I can't help you. I'd like for those people to ride along with me into old age and not die from COVID before they get a shot at it. How many people are you willing to sacrifice short-mid term while you get comfortable with a freaking vaccine? They've been around for ages. This irrational fear of a vaccine and a potential, but not very likely based on all of our other vaccine knowledge, long term impact instead of being afraid of the actual disease that is killing people now is what I don't understand.

It's a vaccine that was started under Trump and rolled out by Biden.
Neither side should fear it or claim its dangerous due to it being pushed by the other side since both sides have been in charge during the creation, testing, and implementation.

Yet it's a divisive sticking point.

Vaccinations have been mandatory for decades.

Also, preventable diseases you mention are most likely 1- more difficult to transmit and/or 2- less serious.

The problem with this whole deal is the wording. They say mandate but in actuality it’s not. For this to become law it has to go through a lengthy and red tape process and it hasn’t. It’s actually unconstitutional at this point. Cases are dropping at a big rate and there are thousands upon thousands of people cramped up against each other in stadiums across the country every weekend but by dang they are going to keep pushing this crap down everyone’s throat!! My daughter said that at her school (she’s in the 11th grade) that it’s almost like the covid was never even there. No cases,no masks, etc.

It's easy to claim something doesn't exist if you don't test for it and don't track it.

Bull crap!! You have no idea what you’re talking about and no she doesn’t go to Prep. Rankin county school district school. You didn’t get my point. Mandate means law. Look it up for yourself. This “mandate” is NOT LAW!! If I want to get the damn. Vaccine I’ll get the damn vaccine idiot and I don’t need your dumbass telling me what I should or shouldn’t do. Why does this board have to have so many asswipes on it. Good grief man get a damn life! ****!!

I’m not exposing myself to at-risk people. It’s also not my job to protect them from things they themselves should be protecting themselves from. Do you go around taking cigarettes from people’s mouths? Do you knock every bag of McDonald’s from hands? How about when others drink around you? You’re taking your Big Brother attitude so seriously then you should start doing those things if you aren’t.
Besides, there’s a great treatment called the antibody infusion that works great for keeping people out of the hospital if only they would be given it.
It’s wonderful that you also seem confident that this new “vaccine” is so safe despite not having been proven. Hopefully you’re right, but you don’t know this no matter how cocky you are about it.

Because the Feds can't mandate it directly. All they can do is threaten to withhold grants to institutions that don't adopt a vaccine mandate. I think it's highly questionable whether they would actually be able to do that, but the IHL apparently is taking the "safe" route.

This guy gets it!!

This is true. My first Pfizer shot was during the previous presidency.

And while I'm Not A Fan™ of the previous president, I've always given him kudos for Operation Warp Speed. I knew that an early rollout of the vaccine was very possible.
