This is a good thread. This has been a weird year for Rutgers and has to be looked at in its own way, but Langan has certainly earned my respect. I’m sure this is not the way he ever though he’d see the field, but he stepped in and has performed valiantly in a very difficult situation. And those who have mentioned the way the team respond to him have a good point. When you see two prominent offensive players quit when the going gets tough, you know the ones who still show up want to be there. This team was DONE after three weeks. Now, they are running less talent out there, and (this is no secret) they are not good. But they are tough. They’ve played better and with heart. It would’ve been easy for everyone to pack it in, but you’re seeing some kids showing up with pride. They should give you a little bit of hope for next year.
That’s enough gushing over Rutgers football for me, but I think it bears weighing in from behind enemy lines.
