PSU was 306th in blocked shots %..BAD

Last Year I take Cliff without thinking over Harrar. Those 2 can NOT be on the court together. Neither would be OK playing 20MPG and not being in the game at crunch time.

Almost every Power 6 team primarily plays 4 guard/wing players. Putting two post players on the court at the same time would be a huge matchup problem defensively and would require an elite offense player to make up for it. Purdue had two of the best post players in the B1G and they very rarely were on the court together.

What would Cliff do when Harrar was setting screens? Hang out on the perimeter?
On defense Cliff would be out guarding the opposing 4
On offense Paul would be on the bench.

I guess I don't see the roles as hard coded as you do. I think the offense and defense could be tailored to work with Cliff and Harrar on the floor at the same time.

Likewise, I wasn't thinking of Quinn as solely a backup to Cliff. I thought Quinn and Reiber could also play the four. But clearly, Pikiell is with you guys in that respect. It seems once Cliff was locked into returning, RU didn't see a need for Quinn. So to your point, it doesn't seem like Rieber is going to get much time at the 4 next season either.

It's just too hard for these 5's to guard the perimeter against today's 4's. Dean maybe gets a few minutes at the 4 in certain matchups if we want to go big, but we really didn't see it last year. Dean also may bulk up a bit which would make it even harder to play the 4. If he did, we would likely need to play zone on D with that lineup
