Absolutely.
It's just that I can understand why someone would be irrationally optimistic on a fan forum for their favorite team. I'm not going to try and dampen their spirits or ruin their fun.
There's essentially no objectivity here. The people who pretend to be are just abundantly negative and think their expectations somehow carry significance. None of what we say here matters at all.
So why would anyone show up and make everyone else miserable? If you don't feel like partying, stay home.
I get your point and I appreciate it. As much as anything I come here to talk about Kentucky basketball with UK fans, and like you said I do that with the understanding that nothing here I say matters. Which is why I feel like I don’t have to be a cheerleader all the time. I can say something is a cause for concern if I think it is. That’s not being miserable at all. Is it?
but the thing that does irritate me is the cheerleaders that absolutely roast people when they bring up concerns, “YOU DONT KNOW BASKETBALL AS WELL AS CAL! He’s a Hall of Famer and you’re not!” Okay Sparky, we got it.
NOT singling you out on that one. Just saying this is where there’s a disconnect and people that express REAL concerns get totally **** on here. And that gets old. You know?
Personally if I see gaps or holes in the team, and am then proven wrong by the squad I’m the first dude to say “oh ****, I missed that one. My bad.” Hell last year I said IJ reminded me of Marcus Lee. It took all of one practice for me to start my own thread calling myself out for it.
