I am starting to question my confidence in Donati after he stated prior to introducing Schnall, while we were in the market for a new baseball coach in March, that he did not start looking for a new coach until May, I find that a strange admission. Furthermore, while everyone is entitled to their opinion and I respect the opinions of others, there are many who are acting like we just hired a "Steve Spurrier" type of caliber coach in baseball. Kevin Schnall had 1 great season at Coastal, injuries or not, his second season saw a dramatic decline, were beaten by Northern Illinois in the first game of post season. The biggest question for me, besides his overall lack of experience as a HC, he inherited the Coastal program, he did not build it as a hc., he was working for seasoned veteran head coach and a very good one at that. I am not saying Schnall is going to fail here and I hope he does great, but I have my doubts at the moment.
I will be interested in seeing his full staff, but Bill Cilento coming here after 17 years at Wake tells me a little something!

CCU fans seem pissed at Schnall. Didn't realize he'd been at CCU as a player or coach for 28 of the last 31 years.

Maybe it was hard for Schnall to leave Coastal - it had to be. Maybe he wasn`t sure, needed time and/or Donati was evaluating possible interest from others. Better than pulling a Cremins or whoever the CoC coaching hire that backed out. Who was that by the way? We aren`t going to know for sure unless Schnall talks about it, which I feel is good. No leaks that I`m aware of and that`s always good. Better than Tom Herman being on the way in a plane.
