I don't argue with most people. Just the ones that have no idea what they are talking about. Get the point?

This kid screams pure moron. He wants to argue about a game he never even watched.

For him, it was a bad game. I think KB is a heck of a player. I really wanted him on this UK team, because he plays hard, he can the outside **** and he can rebound.
I think he's still trying to fit in on that Florida roster, but he really didn't look very good in that game yesterday.

Blackshear is a good college player.

But I never wanted him at UK anyways.

He wasn't the missing piece. Nick has always been the key this year. I would say Dante might have been good addition as well.

What blackshear provides isn't what we need. Having him wouldn't have changed our season much to be honest. The biggest key is development of Nick, EJ, and Brooks.

Would you trade Nick Richards for Blackshear? Me neither. I’m loving our team and hope we crush everyone else.
I don't think anyone is saying anyone needs to be traded for KB.
I think someone said something similar earlier in this thread.
This isn't an either/or situation. We could have simply added KB to what we already have. Imagine this lineup:

Hagans
Maxey
Whitney
Blackshear
Richards

With Sestina and EJ spelling KB and NR. That lineup is a defensive nightmare and probably outrebounds every team we play by 20.

I'd alternate Blackshear and Richards.

At the end of the day, our best 5 players are Hagans, Maxey, Quickley, Sestina, and Richards.

I agree, but against a big team like Michigan State, the lineup I had would cause them fits.
It comes down to who the opponent is. But KB on the roster gives Cal so many more options.

I just love having Sestina on the floor. He can post, he can shoot, he can pass. He's so fundamentally sound. Coaches dream.

I agree, but I'm still taking a watch and see approach with him and Richards. I need to see more before I believe they are as good as they appear.
Richards has done this to us before, so I need to see his consistency before I believe he's able to man that 5 spot every game. But I really like what I see so far.

Whole heartedly agree on Richards. The best is yet to come with Sestina.

Exactly this team is Blue Lighting ....even Nate is quicker and faster.

Agree. I think Blackshear is a good player but does not fit this UK team and I'm glad we got Nate. Had we not gotten Nate, Blackshear may have come here. But that would mean no Nate. I like how it worked out for us.

He had a double double his first game, and I guess one in this game as well. There’s a reason he wasn’t drafted though. I think he went there because we had Nick and EJ, and Florida didn’t have a center. Wonder if Jay Billas is still saying they may be the best team in the country?

I mean.. im fine with where we are at. But yeah, id still take KB in a heartbeat. These senior type transfers are proving to be very valuable. And as much as ive scoffed at Florida's top10 ranking.. it is early and its a new team for him.

But.. we definitely dont need him as much as we thought, IF Richards can keep this going.

I question how good FL really is. I know it's early, but they lost by double digits to FLST who many might say so, they are a solid team, but FLST lost their first game to Pitt. I could be wrong, but I don't see Pitt being very good this year.

Like I said it's early, but the only other game FL only beat North FL by 15. These are the bunny games we see most of the perceived good teams hammering by 30-40+. So even if KB had a good game in the first one it was against no one and FLST is a better representation of what he will face this year. No doubt the guy is talented. I just wonder if FL is the right place to use him properly. Has Mike White had much success with bigs? Honestly asking I can't remember if he has had any really talented bigs.

I think UF will end up being pretty good when it is all said and done.

They have some really good guards and wings and Blackshear will be a very good big man for them once he gets some experience playing with those guys. Give them some time, they will be fine.

The kid is averaging 15 pts and 11.5 boards a game. He had 10 and 13 tonight. You all act like he is averaging 2 and 1 a game.
I think you should quit bashing a player that at one time you wanted UK to recruit and because he didn't come to UK you have decided to bash him.
The kid is a mediocre defender and a big who averaged less than a block a game. He would struggle playing defense here nowhere near fast enought to switch on screens. Mediocre athlete every one on here only focused on his scoring and rebounding stats. So many people here wanted him and was hoping Nick would transfer or go pro in Europe. Nick had better stats both his fresh year and soph year than Blackshear did his fresh and soph year. Blackshear developed became a solid big but far from a game changer. Nick last year showed he was capable of blocking 4 shots a game and if he had of played Blackshears min last season he would have averaged 8 points 7 boards and 3.5 blocks. 3.5 blocks is an elite level game changing rim protector something KB will never be.

I am mainly focused on your stupid logic. My guess you have never played organized basketball because you have no clue.

1. Blocks aren’t the end all be all. Blake Griffin has never averaged a block a game for an entire season and still has several all-star appearances.

2. Defense isn’t all athleticism. A lot of it is between the ears. Nick was always lost last year and giving up lay-ups and fouls.

This IS rafters sir. Did you read all 4 pages or skip to the end to post an asinine comment like a casual?

Because you asked, sir, I read 2+ pages and decided reading more would be asinine. Then, I made my observation, which I doubt you can dispute, despite your hypersensitivity.

I look forward to each of his games to see how the analysis develops.
