Before he was out in the Florida game he was playing well and hitting some jumpers, but now it’s easy to tell he is favoring that ankle when going up on shots
He isn't 100% but some fans could care less. His size defending opponents guards is his strength. He is needed on a bad defensive team. Sheppard has to play the point though 34 minutes plus for them to have a chance. Wagner isn't a PG neither is Rob.

Wagner’s D was very good against Auburn at least. He fought hard over screens and was a big reason they didn’t get many open looks from 3. Agree, his offense has not been the same since the ankle roll, but still gotta give him credit.
They got open looks; they just didn't make them.

I feel like they have LSU figured out. I would hope they could keep them at arms length the rest of the game

We shouldn't undermine DJ's defense, guys.

He has been our best perimeter defender, by a large margin, since he came back from injury.

That is 50% of the game after all.

Shep/DJ/Reeves is a good perimeter to me, especially since Rob's offense is lacking right now.
Cats forced 11 turnovers. DJ has been a big part of that D.

They are god awful
I haven’t watched them, but 3-22 as a record and constantly getting blown out, they must be just god awful In every aspect. That just makes Louisville losing to them even more hilarious

Dillingham is very inconsistent offensively and gives you nothing at all on defense.
He doesn’t have the mentality to settle in and take what the D gives him when his shots aren’t falling. He just presses harder to try and make up for the bad plays. It’s his biggest fault imo, if we could ever get him to have Reeds shot selection when he’s cold we’d be in much better shape. But when he is hot he’s one of the best in the country, so you gotta let him be Rob and see if it’s one of those nights. Just wish he had that switch to settle in after missing a few.

keep ‘em on the floor for 6 mins, I would’ve started em but we all know Cal has shat the bed on this start.

Sure, but I do think those are hard to do simultaneously. I don't think it's a coincidence that when our defense has gotten better, our offense slipped.

We also clearly have players who are better at defense. And others who are better at offense.

Yeah definitely a give and take a little bit I feel.

I just do feel if this is March 21st and we are still sitting at 21st in KP at 19.52 we are definitely on the outside looking in.

I feel like we have to have some separation....................a 9 point lead at the half in a game where we were only predicted to win by 4 is a good start tho lol

Wagner is a one trick pony, drive left and hope it goes in. His jumper rarely goes in. He’s turned up his defensive intensity but the ball dies with him offensively. Teams have the scouting report on him now and it becomes harder to go left every single time.
But it’s not his fault the way he’s being used. I’d love to have him back next year but we all know that’s a joke.
The only thing that drove up his hype so much was the whole "It's UK against DJ's grandfather" nonsense. He's really an average guard, maybe below-average.

Credit for what? Playing defense one game, then slacking on another....Don't think so!

Lately we can absolutely keep Dilly on the bench- he has had some BAD spurts- including the 1st half tonight.

Let's see, but he has not been great the last few games.

He'll be fine come March, but hitting a freshman wall right now that he's climbing over.

His last two games were so so.. still scored double digits, still shot well. It was Gonzaga that he had a off night. But I'm not ready to think Dilly hit a wall.. not yet at least. I do think to prevent that, he has to do a little this half. But more or less I think he's still dependable.

Where would this team be if Z was given the same latitude for screw ups that Edwards gets. Z would be ready for tough March play and the team would benefit from his size, passing, and shooting. So, Edwards has a solid half, whatever that means, after having countless halves of screw ups. He is a huge liability.
I know you don’t like Edwards but he is 2-3 in the first half I didn’t see him screw much up .
I do agree with you on Big Z though

He should get serious consideration for SEC POTY. It feels like Knecht is getting all the hype, but their numbers are actually extremely similar.
