Grad Transfer.
1 year player with experience to add depth so it wont affect recruiting for '18.
Kegler averaged 28mpg, 9.7ppg, 5.5rpg, shot 42% overall, shot 34% from behind the arc, had 1.2apg, and 1.9to/g
Thats an interesting mix of good and bad to replace. Its a lot of minutes to replace, its a health amount of points to replace, and its for sure a lot of rebounds to replace. But his shooting % overall and from isnt impressive, so hopefully the collective replacement will shoot more effectively. Heck, Stapleton has similar shooting%s to Kegler. He also turned the ball over 2x/game even though he wasnt the primary ball handler or even the secondary so the collective replacement taking care of the ball better shouldnt be tough.
Overall from a freshman, he was good for us.
Kegler was 2nd in rebounding, and almost led the team per game. Thats a big loss. And in spite of how much he loved to launch from deep, his overall fg% was higher than Carter's and Peters' %s.
He clearly didnt understand constant hustle, struggled with proper spacing, and was inconsistent with knowing what a good shot is- but he was a freshman who played a lot and was relied on to be a serious contributor so his weaknesses were amplified for us to see more often.
I think he would have developed into a better player with experience.
So how is he replaced?
- give Stapleton his minutes?
- Slide Holman out from the basket more often and have a stretch 4 who has a good shot but cant make much from the outside?
- Ado better be a solid rebounder.
- more minutes for Wright and Carter and we just play smaller?
