Someone who is in the know tell me what you mean when you say "Our academics has gone to **** under Keenum". I'm so far disconnected with campus that I'm not sure what people are saying. Can you give me some specifics?
Our academics as usually measured are beyond our control. Keemun has no control over admission standards, nor does he control faculty compensation. Thank the people who thought segregated education was a great idea, and the fallout from THAT.
WTF??
Ratings, LOL. I can assure you if you apply yourself to your personal studies at MSU the sky is the limit. That applies anywhere actually. If you are relying on University ratings.....lol.People are referring to where MSU ranks in various academic ratings.

We've lived with those admission policies for 22 years now. Not the reason our academic measurements have fallen through the floor in the last 10 years.
That said, Ole Miss operates under the same admission standings as MSU. Why has MSUs ratings dropped and theirs not as much?
Weren't USM and MSU about the same size 20 years ago?
Perception matters. When searching for a university to attend, do you truly think standing (which ratings help establish) doesn’t matter to prospective students? I agree that success can happen irrespective of the university name on a diploma but there is a correlation between a higher number of high earning graduates and higher rated universities.

This afternoon MSU announced record attendance to just under 23,000 students and Ole Miss was down again. We are now larger than their Oxford campus + Med school combined. This is just as much a theme over the last several years as the academic rankings. Where kids would like to go to school seems tilted in MSU's favor when using Ole Miss as a benchmark. The "flagship" is flying at half mast when it comes to annual student enrollment and it's not a 1-off Covid issue
