here is the quote

“Being honest, I haven’t educated myself well enough on Adolph Rupp or just the whole situation at hand to really give you my thoughts on it,” said Brooks, who is also a member of the SEC Council on Racial Equality and Social Justice. “From what I do know, I would like to see a name change just basically because of what his name is and what that’s connected to and what that kind of represents. I would like to see a name change.”

About what I thought and remembered. Man, people can really twist things into whatever they wanted to hear. what a completely innocent statement.

No it’s not completely innocent. We’re hearing different things. Adolph Rupp didn’t do anything to Keon Brooks. He’s got no right attacking the man by asking that his name be tarnished in any way. This selfish mindset of the 2nd wave civil rights movement takes away from real things they could be doing. Keon Brooks has absolutely no clue what Adolph Rupp thought, and he’s got no right to attack the guy. I don’t care what color someone is Keon Brooks needs pushback.

It’s not the end all but it’s not something that’s just innocent either. And he should apologize to that family if he hasn’t. This isn’t CNN.

I’m not upset to see him go, personally I think he needs a year in college at a place that isn’t Kentucky.

It would stink given the history but going to a team like Indiana where he could be a star player on an average team would be good for his confidence and development on the offensive end.

But to be a pro in the NBA he needs to do two things, one is learn to play defense, and two is to remember that he can jump very high. Guy is a good athlete but he voluntarily plays below the rim a lot, and games like the Kansas game where he’s the best player on the floor is when he’s jumping and playing above the rim.
Let’s also not forget about the handles. Never really improved.

I don’t care what he said about Rupp. To me that’s irrelevant. But I’m not sure what he thinks the NBA is going to tell him. Learn to dribble and shoot threes. Until he does those things he’s not getting drafted or make it.

Huge disappointment as a player. It's either laziness or stupidity because he never improved his glaring weaknesses.

He doesn't get a pass for his Coach Rupp stupidity either.

He can always be a community organizer once he finds out the NBA doesn't want 6'7" forwards who can't dribble or shoot or rebound.

Only reason I'd want him back is I don't think we're getting much next year but overall haven't seen much growth so I wouldn't be heartbroken.

just like begok, he has too much interest and attention directed at activist issues rather than improving any basketball skills he may have had. It takes time and effort and desire to improve and correct deficiencies related to basketball. imagined social issues rule the day for him---and begok aided and abetted those activities.

The sooner "BOTH" are gone the better the men's UK basketball team will be.

bye bye---neither of you will be missed. Take your "acts" elsewhere.

Why would you say something like that about a UK player?
For a whole lot of reasons, but primarily...he killed the Cats last season. Cal's favorite who played, no matter what. He took shots that he should never take and often at a crucial time in the game. He just killed the Cats on so many occasions and isn't talented enough to be a starter for Kentucky, but as we saw last year, Cal is going to keep forcing him into the lineup, which will once again make it difficult for the Cats to win next year. He's one of my least favorite Cats ever.
