I wonder if this guy has ever done anything noteworthy? Surely the announcers would tell us

Let’s keep bringing him up with nobody or just one on for good measure though.

A two run homer that he was shooting for all weekend but other than that he hurt them all weekend.

I just want you to know that the player does not have any control over the "storyline" ESPN creates for players. The kid had a great regional series so he was going to be a story for ND. ESPN is the lazy one who comes up with all the B roll stuff for the game and the announcers. In 1981 I was one of our storylines and they shot some B roll stuff and asked me to talk about how they called me "The Bambino" at MSU. NO ONE EVER called me "The Bambino". However if you saw those games on TV they kept calling me that and played my comments etc. Nothing I could do about it.

There will not be any kudos for this but he came over to the first base to right field fence and spoke to two young kids of one of my friends. They have a great picture. He was great and very cordial.

This ^^^. He took a good bit of friendly **** during the game and received a bulk of the attention from state fans and took it all in stride with a good attitude. We ran into he and his family after the game and they were nothing but complimentary of State and the experience that they had. He even made a round to the outfield to see/speak to some of the fans out there. He definitely added some new fans of his for the rest of his career. Best of luck to him.

The knowledge of some is amazing. He’s a ball player on a team we opposed. The hate of some is hilarious and probably the same hate when our players don’t produce. Baseball is a tough game to be great every weekend. He was and is talented just like several on our team that several turn on.

I'm sure he's an altar boy at Sunday mass as well, but if I remember correctly, Kavadas was the one who last week told reporters they would come in here and wipe us out 2-0 with ease. I didn't hear Rowdey, TA, or anyone on our side saying in public that we were clearly and easily going to whip their ***.

I don't have anything against the guy, certainly don't hate him (and that ball he hit was 17'ing impressive), but some players choose to be humble and give the other team credit before the game, say "they're a tough team", "should be a great series", "we'll go in there and give it everything we've got and see what happens", etc. But the altar boy is the one who chose to go the other way with it. If you talk **** like that, obviously you better back it up, or at least be ready to take the verbal whipping that's coming your way with a smile. He poked the bull. I'd say he volunteered to catch some horns.

Looked like he ran his mouth at Sims on the way to 1st after his bomb, and the. Pointed back at him and talked **** after he touched home, and continued back in the dug out. Maybe he was telling everyone how courteous our fans were in the outfield. I wasn’t there just what it looked like on tv.

Rule of thumb, don't talk **** when you've losing the game 11-7. That double play ball may have been some karma.

His mouth wrote a check that his *** couldn't cash.

He's a helluva ballplayer and he'll probably make a lot of money. But he's also deserving of the grief. He's a big boy and he can handle it, so there's no need to clutch your pearls over it.

That is the reason I made the steroid comment. Every time I saw him he was acting like he had roid rage. Maybe be was just saying the rosary!
