So you’re saying the Ted Owens coached Kansas teams in the 70’s do not warrant recognition? You’re claiming those Kentucky wins are irrelevant in historical significance yet Dr. James Naismith, Phog Allen’s accomplishments are historically significant? They’re all in the PAST. Kansas fans love to cherry pick eras to fit their narrative. You also make a habit of making excuses for getting your arse beat by Kentucky, (two of KU’s weakest rosters, ran out of time) etc....All those wins vs Ted Owens in the 70s sure are relevant to today.
More relevant would be that KU leads in the modern era. Despite having to play three games against UK's two best rosters ever (with two of KU's weakest rosters in recent memory).
Here’s the deal; Kansas has a nice program and it’s because of their HISTORY. Those Ted Owens teams are part of your HISTORY. You can’t pretend they didn’t exist. So take the first 16 of 17 arse whoopin’s you received from the Univeristy of Kentucky and accept it. Furthermore, due to the overwhelming advantage Kentucky has over Kansas (71% wins) 8 titles to 3, most overall wins in college basketball history, this isn’t even considered a rivalry. You need to get past the likes of North Carolina, Duke, Indiana, before you even get a seat at the table next to UK. This is a fact. Understand it and govern yourself accordingly.
