Geez, I wasnt attacking you. Relax.
You said that Juzang is a massive upgrade over Baker and that he is not UK material next year. I disagree. You realize that Juzang will take Baker's place in the rotation, right? He will be in the same spot that Baker was in. He isnt taking IQ or Maxey's minutes. I think you have extremely high expectations for a reclass freshman. Call me crazy but I dont see him giving us a ton more than Baker would have next year. Thats just how I see it. He is a great replacement for Baker, dont get me wrong and Im trilled to have him but I dont see him making the impact that you are implying simply based off opportunity. He is going to be in the exact spot that you were using for your argument on Baker. He is going to be our 8th-9th man, our last backcourt option just like Baker. Also, seems like he is set on being a OAD. In my opinion, Id take Baker plus 2 extra years of filling that Darius Miller role that wins championships. Thats just my opinion. Its ok if we disagree.
Please stop the we are the gold standard argument. Being arrogant doesn't win championships. Having the most talent doesn't win championships. You have to build a complete team.
Didn't think you were. It's a message board, I'm not personally offended by anything.
Yes, I realize Juzang is taking Baker's spot. I don't think expecting Juzang to be more productive than Baker is too much to expect. You're taking my comments out of context. You keep saying I have some massive expectations for the dude. No, I expect him to be a big upgrade over Baker, a player that I wasn't extremely high on--that's it. You were high on him, that's fine, but my idea of an upgrade is clearly different than yours.
Again, I realize he is taking the exact spot as baker at 8th or 9th man. No where have I stated he would be taking other players minutes or serving any other role than that. You're putting words in my mouth. For an 8th or 9th man, Juzang is a big upgrade over Baker, and I'm more excited to see a first year from him than a second year from Baker. If you had to gamble on the two, I think you pick Juzang--his upside is so much higher.
No one knows whether he will be a OAD or not. Baker essentially decided to be the equivalent of a OAD by leaving anyways, so I don't think that argument has any relevance here.
It's not arrogance, it's the facts of the matter. It's Kentucky, we don't not take a player because our 8th or 9th man may feel pushed out. Baker decided to leave on his own, but you still take this guy even if he hadn't yet.
You glazed over the fact that I said talented and
cohesive team. I agree that it's not only talent that matters, but building a complete team requires talent first and foremost.
