Juzang gave his verbal during his in home with Cal Friday. Should be announced tmmrw or a few days after his campus visit. He will be reclassifying. Wasn't supposed to post anything until an announcement was set but tmmrw seems most probable. UK will have plenty of wings next year and I'm happy to have a long team once again as Cal usually gets them to play great D early.

You want to take away the opportunity for him to make an announcement. You are something. Mods ban this idiot.

Kids want their moment in the spotlight nothing wrong with that especially since this kid has been wanting a blue blood offer. Last time I went on record it was hagans, but you're entitled to your opinion. The biggest part of the news is the reclass.
And you want to take away his moment in the spotlight. Real nice look op. Hope you enjoy your one moment of fame.

Geez, I wasnt attacking you. Relax.

You said that Juzang is a massive upgrade over Baker and that he is not UK material next year. I disagree. You realize that Juzang will take Baker's place in the rotation, right? He will be in the same spot that Baker was in. He isnt taking IQ or Maxey's minutes. I think you have extremely high expectations for a reclass freshman. Call me crazy but I dont see him giving us a ton more than Baker would have next year. Thats just how I see it. He is a great replacement for Baker, dont get me wrong and Im trilled to have him but I dont see him making the impact that you are implying simply based off opportunity. He is going to be in the exact spot that you were using for your argument on Baker. He is going to be our 8th-9th man, our last backcourt option just like Baker. Also, seems like he is set on being a OAD. In my opinion, Id take Baker plus 2 extra years of filling that Darius Miller role that wins championships. Thats just my opinion. Its ok if we disagree.

Please stop the we are the gold standard argument. Being arrogant doesn't win championships. Having the most talent doesn't win championships. You have to build a complete team.

Didn't think you were. It's a message board, I'm not personally offended by anything.

Yes, I realize Juzang is taking Baker's spot. I don't think expecting Juzang to be more productive than Baker is too much to expect. You're taking my comments out of context. You keep saying I have some massive expectations for the dude. No, I expect him to be a big upgrade over Baker, a player that I wasn't extremely high on--that's it. You were high on him, that's fine, but my idea of an upgrade is clearly different than yours.

Again, I realize he is taking the exact spot as baker at 8th or 9th man. No where have I stated he would be taking other players minutes or serving any other role than that. You're putting words in my mouth. For an 8th or 9th man, Juzang is a big upgrade over Baker, and I'm more excited to see a first year from him than a second year from Baker. If you had to gamble on the two, I think you pick Juzang--his upside is so much higher.

No one knows whether he will be a OAD or not. Baker essentially decided to be the equivalent of a OAD by leaving anyways, so I don't think that argument has any relevance here.

It's not arrogance, it's the facts of the matter. It's Kentucky, we don't not take a player because our 8th or 9th man may feel pushed out. Baker decided to leave on his own, but you still take this guy even if he hadn't yet.

You glazed over the fact that I said talented and cohesive team. I agree that it's not only talent that matters, but building a complete team requires talent first and foremost.

Idk if op had inside info or not. But he definitely called at least one commit last year. So he deserves benefit of the doubt.

If someone wants to post what they're hearing here - I don't get why people get upset. Yes it's hard to discern legit posts. But I prefer discerning bs rather than have no info at all
I prefer hearing it from the player himself and not someone trying to impress everyone he is an insider. Several reports are that he has a big announcement to make Wednesday evening. Doesn’t take much logic to figure out what that announcement is going to be. Let’s try to make sure we take that special moment away from the kid.

I know Whitney hasn’t signed yet - any reason to believe there is more to that situation than we think?

Last I heard he was set to sign on May 3rd I believe.

Baker was never going to be more than an 8th man here. I conceded in my post that he COULD have improved and come up to UK standards by his third or fourth year. Did you miss that part?

My expectations have nothing to do with it. We're the gold standard in college basketball. You build every roster with as much talent and cohesion as possible. If a player like Baker isn't okay with primarily sitting on the bench for a year or two at a powerhouse like UK, with a possible opportunity at a bigger role his junior and senior year, that's on him. We don't need to be catering to our 8th-9th man. He had two options: Get better, or leave. He chose the second, and he had every right to do so and I wish him all the best.

If Baker has to go for a player like Juzang to come in you take that trade 10 times out of 10. You're insane if you wouldn't.
Insane?

I've obviously learned from my mistakes bc of posters like you. Again be happy, we got a good player with length which will hopefully make our D very good once again.

Could've posted this Saturday and im sure you would've been 10x as mad.
And you could of not posted it at all and let the kid have his one shining moment.

Don't think random message board guy is stealing anyone's thunder.

He is good at calling the obvious.

Maybe. But I also remember when he called shots that were anything but.

He can't drop that far, he sits at 21st in a tougher class. Does anyone know if he stays about the same if we pass Dook?
I was being facetious...any player we get will be rated lower than pUKe's so they can remain king of cruiting, if rivals has him higher espn will put him at 50

Runt 100% knows some people who hear things. He’s definitely close enough to run across some interesting tidbits. The insider nonsense is stupid. I rarely entertain people looking for attention but that’s not what he’s doing. Runt has told me a few things in private and I would vouch for him on my end. He’s probably a little closer than you think, and definitely not one to look for attention. Had that been the case some things he has said in private......he would have definitely mentioned here.

It’s funny. A fraud like coachX, who’s still running around making troll accounts, was applauded and given the benefit of the doubt by majority yet, runt, who’s a long time member and someone who’s in that area, gets dismissed by other long time posters.

This is why the straight posters dry up around here.

If he said he heard that from a credible source, then I 100% believe he heard it. Just do with it what you want, form your own conclusions. But attacking him as a liar reeks of something other than disbelief.

at this point last year our line up was penciled in as Hagans, Quickley, Keldon, PJ, EJ or Nick. Reid and whichever big didn't start were thought to be first off the bench and people thought Tyler and Jemarl would be a toss up. Maybe Juzang ends up a starter maybe Sestina passes EJ and Nick if they come back. Anything is pure speculation at this point. How anyone could be fighting over any of it is insane.

When the hell did so many of you care about stealing the kids moment?

If your so mad about that you need to just get off this board and stop looking at any of the insiders predictions on where a kid is going cause that’s the exact same thing as the OP.

Lets just wait to see what happens. You think that what is told on here will get out to the millions of UK fans? Or media? And ruin a players moment?

The strength of one fan. My,my, my.
Well I was good friends with Derrick Jasper in college, and after one night of him, his brother Brandon, and I eating B-dubs he told me in my car that he was transferring. I got wasted one night soon after and made a drunk post on here and apparently Marc Maggard and others picked it up and posted the rumor. Woke up with a text from Derrick saying "I thought you was my dog". I felt like a foolish ******* at the time. So it is possible for one fan to spoil someones decision.

Also, would Juzang be our first recruit of Asian heritage?

I told everyone hagans a month or so before and ppl like you don't like to hear it early and berate me. Be happy, aren't you the guy thats all players first and what not? Jeez. Haters going to hate
Hang in there RuppRunt haters going to hate. I have no doubt that if Christ provided some information on this board about a recruit some people would doubt him. Not trying to say your in his company but just trying to make a point.

I guess I don’t get real excited to think of him as a multi-year player because I doubt he sees himself this way.

If he can be a significant contributor next year then I’m excited. Otherwise wouldn’t he be looking for a quick exit to the NBA?

Well in general those that go to the NBA are either a significant contributor or have a very high upside.

Vanderbilt and Skal are the only two (that I can recall off the top of my head) that didn't contribute much and left for NBA. I am sure I am missing some, but in general guys are big contributors and then go. Doesn't mean they were ready (many examples), but they played a big role in college.

This has been hilarious to read. People here go crazy on a daily basis for info, any info, to have an idea of what's going on. They actually get it from a reputable poster and those same people rip him apart for "spoiling" the kids moment or some other nonsense. The hypocrisy is astounding. I'd be very interested to know the psychology behind the insane behavior displayed here. Some of you are nuts...

Dramatic much? Settle down crybaby.

This place has like 1% of UK fans and nobody outside of UK following it.

For 99%+ of the basketball world whatever announcement he makes today will still allow the kid to “have his moment”.
