If you go on X and look in the comment sections, EVERYONE, not just Kentucky fans, I'm talking MSU fans, BYU fans, fans of teams that we aren't even rivals with talking about how bad at recruiting Pope is. There are some fans on here who constantly try to straw man and gas light the rest of us and say "you all are so toxic and making it a big deal." This is not normal, this has become a national story. The head coach at Kentucky, or any power school, should not have this many recruiting blunders over and over. Insinuating it's just Kentucky fans being toxic or whatever, is a lie.

Just for giggles, let's assume say we bring in a big name coach. How successful would he be at recruiting with with the #15 or #20 NIL budget in the country, because I think that is where UK is heading. I don't think UK can keep up, especially while investing in football.
No that is misleading. The reason Kentucky hasn't spent as much money as these other schools is because Pope hasn't landed any of the expensive players, ie. Stokes, who would have instantly made Kentucky one of the most expensive rosters + Wright, etc. Kentucky has had the money but you're not going to give Justin McBride $5 million. There is a difference between having money and using that money to obtain less expensive players.

You don't need to comb Twitter to see that Pope is widely considered a laughing stock. There is going to be reputational recoup necessary in the next coaching change. Even Hubert Davis got some good players.

Billy G even got a few really good players. This is ridiculous for UK to struggle to sign players and have the money to pay them well.
