JQ swelling

JQ could be a huge asset to this team on the defensive end and overall rebounding. He gives absolutely nothing on offense other than rim rattlers which is fine. A lot like Mo IMO but Mo is extremely valuable to our team when he sticks to his role. JQ simply hasn’t played enough to prove his value to the team and that likely won’t happen (at least this year) and I’m be indifferent if he came back to try and play this year at this stage.

I'm sure it's nothing but a coincidence, that the swelling coincided with his family speaking out on social media about how pope was utilizing JQ.

Initial swelling began after St John’s game. Played through it the next couple games but was no where near 100%. Night and day difference in his mobility during that St John’s game and the other games. Sucks because he truly is a good kid. Swelling has actually gotten worse now and unfortunately he won’t be coming back at this point. We have our 9 man rotation and it’s time to buckle down and enjoy the ride.
Damn that sucks! Yeah, it was very noticeable that he wasn’t nearly as mobile after the SJ game. He looked completely different against SJ.

I think he’s more Shadeon Sharpe than we want to admit. I think he did want to play initially, but when he got exposed his handlers shut him down.

Did anyone see the woman from Italy win the downhill gold medal last night? She had a severely broken leg in April last year. I’m not saying it’s the same thing, but I also don’t think JQ is as injured as we are being told either.

Wouldn’t it be a nice if he used UK to rehab and signed to play for Cal next year? That would just be great.

Either the kids hurt and probably needs another surgery, but no one can know that because that might hurt his draft stock. Or he’s healthy enough to play but limited physically, but won’t cause that might hurt his draft stock.

This is embarrassing 🙄 And it got likes lol .He tore his ACL , meniscus, and fracture is knee cap just under a year ago. It's obvious after the St. John's game he was struggling. Also Im sure you understand how bad leg injuries can be on a big man. But yeah he's faking . That was the dumbest thing I've read on rafters in a while .
I believe TF cats is a fan, but he's the most miserable SOB that has posted on here in a long time. He makes Zaythoven look like Joel Olstine.

He wasn't in game shape to start. You really don't understand basketball, do you?
Honestly, hard to even have an opinion on JQ. Perplexing to sign a huge NIL deal with a player that was a big question mark at best. Much better and safer players out there to invest in.

looked plenty good enough vs sj, so pope decides to bench him lol

i wouldnt be talking about basketball knowledge if i were you
Limited minutes due to coming back from injury. Not that hard to understand. Had swelling issues not come up, he may well been starting. He only appeared in three games.

You prove with every post, you don't know much.

that bellarmine game he was stuck in the mud trying to move/pivot. like you said....it was obvious. kid gave it a go and you have to credit him for that.

i'll bet he gets a 2nd surgery when the season is over. if that happens it will be curious what choices he makes. safe bet is he bets on himself and goes pro....but with a 2nd surgery i'm just not sure he is a 1st rounder that point.
If he ends up getting surgery I will definitely apologize for my opinion on it. I’m sure he swells and is sore sometimes but his dad’s comments make me not think it’s just that.

i bet most see his ceiling to be someone like jalen duren. most of his shots are within 10 feet. get you 17 and 10, blocks, steals shoot around 65% from the floor and defend at a high level.
Even Duren showed more offensive post game in college though.

I was really excited we got the kid. But no way in hell if I’m a GM am I drafting a kid who was already very limited offensively, who now is showing signs that he could have chronic knee issues.
Exactly. His “potential” is why he was so high on draft boards to begin with. He’s far from polished and heavily relied on athleticism to be effective. If im a GM there’s no way I’m taking him until the end of the first round at the earliest. Those teams can afford to take the risk. That’s assuming he’s even 100% by draft day and I doubt he will be at this point.

I’m sick of JQ FR.
He’s odd for sure. Like he thinks he’s LeBron. Watch him after the first game he played in Rupp. Like he thinks we would all worship him and he thinks he’s the prize of the team. I wish I could see him and tell him to sit his punk azz down somewhere. Every time I see him in the huddle I wonder why he’s allowed to keep using UK.
