Any top 5 recruit that puts his future in the hands of Self is what id call stupid..Self needs to prove he can coach without keeping guys for 3-4 years...Half the KU team would be in the NBA had they picked Kentucky...

But he probably will return, so it doesn't matter. Other schools don't have draft picks as their main goal.

Yes I'm a bitter prick right now, just don't pay attention.

I guess I am to right now. It does bug me sometimes that we seem to care more about our guys getting drafted than anything else. Fact is KU has plenty of player's in the league, and a legit shot at Self's second title THIS year.

This years 2016 NBA Draft is about as weak as this year's NCAA Basketball Season. That is why we will see alot of the players enter the draft this year. The 2017 NBA Draft is loaded and we will see some players that might have come back to play another year go ahead and put there name in this years NBA Draft. That is why we might see a Briscoe or Lee from UK or a Diallo or Selden from Kansas put their names in the 2016 NBA Draft. If you look at the 2017 NBA Mock Drafts they are loaded at the top with these Talented Freshman coming to Kentucky, Duke, Michigan State, and Kansas.

Mason may not be drafted but just like Briscoe he doesn't want to be in college anymore. Some guys hate school and some want to get payed to play even if it is overseas. We all made some impatient decisions at 19-20 so we shouldn't be surprised when young guys make bad decisions.

Just curious, where did you get the info that he doesn't want to be in college anymore? Briscoe too for that matter? Not being argumentative, just curious where you heard that about Mason. I think I did hear that Briscoe would like to go if possible but not because he doesn't like being in college.

But haven't you visited the Heels board ? Ole Roy doesn't want the one & dones . Doesn't even bother to recruit them . lol

Those idiots are hilarious. Ole Roy just said that he recruits the same players that Cal does but the difference was that Cal actually got those players. Lol

Us, Duke, Kansas, MSU, and Indiana will all be really really good next year. It always seems like our best teams come in years with several elite teams in college basketball and Loserville gets their best teams when a high school team has a chance to win the tourney. I'm sure there will be a few other teams pop up next year, like a Oregon this year, that can win it all. There may also be a team or 2 that I'm not thinking about at the moment that could be really good. I think next year will be a loaded year for college basketball. That's another reason why if like to have a few veterans with our guys coming in to lead them when times get tough. Will be really difficult to win tourney next year. I do have faith though! Gotta have faith!

Well since you are free to have this dumb and wrong opinion I can't get too out of shape about it since it doesn't matter what you think, only what recruits think. But stop acting surprised when guys pick Kansas, in fact a top 5 guy could be doing it very soon.

Aside from the fact that your post is naive, are you a fan of the NBA or college basketball?

Do you consider your school an NBA development program or a college blue blood and destination program? Because your post suggests you consider it the former and not the latter.

OK. He's still listed as a 5 star in the final rankings for Rivals.

Why does that bother you so much?

It..doesn't bother me at all? Just trying to be accurate, I didn't really even read the argument going on.

But Rivals does this annoying thing where players commit to UK, KU or Duke and magically the next time they update their rankings they go up a star. I'm convinced it's a way to look better in hindsight when those players predictably get better or if they've slept on a player that Cal or K or Self values.

There's probably some of that. Your cohort was just trying a little too hard to hype up Self's big man development prowess by labeling Embiid as a 4 star.

As I recall, Embiid was getting a lot of love on the all star circuit spring of '13.

Not that Self didn't do a good job with him. But it wasn't like anyone was surprised that he was really good.

How many #1 recruiting classes have we had? How about Self? We get more higher rated 5 stars than Self does every year. If all of Selfs kids come here, where do ours go? Not every kid can commit to UK. Just because a kid is a 5 star doesn't mean he is or,should be one and done. Doesn't mean Cal or Self or K didn't develop them. Mason is nowhere near as good as Tyler, but by the time he's a senior he will be pretty salty. And saying Freahman Fox will be better- I hope he will be- but who the hell knows. We all thought Skal was going to be #1 draft pick, but he may be a bust, some as much as said it on here. So why does Self need to prove he can coach without keeping guys for a few years? Give him Cals kids and he just might do as well as Cal

As I've said, I don't hate Kansas , I like Bill Self and if we didn't have Cal, that's who I'd want. I hate KU fans, but I don't hate the kids. I've watched them a lot. Still think we beat them on a neutral court. But some of these posts are just ignorant. Just like Cal, Self doesn't have to prove anything to anybody....yet. They both need another championship. Self is more old school than Cal, but that doesn't make him a bad coach.

Yeah, on a neutral Kentucky would absolutely beat Kansas. Maybe not Indiana, but definitely Kansas

Kentucky could absolutely beat Kansas, and of course Auburn could absolutely beat Kentucky. We'd all agree

Sagarin recent has Kansas -7 faves over Kentucky so if Murray had a really big night, anything is possible

U can't do that. If it weren't for Allen Fieldhouse refs Kansas would be another Indiana or Iowa or Maryland. That is why Kansas is always losing early in March

Jackson is NOT picking KU. It's Arizona or Mich St.

[laughing] KU doesn't lose to a mid major in the first round for the first time in I don't know how long, and now all the sudden they're puffing out their chest like they're somebody.

Must feel good to be able to let it all out, considering they cheer for a team that is only a contender once every four years. See you guys in 2020.

Why do Kansas fans feel the need to come to a Kentucky site? Validation?

OK, Kansas fans. You got a nice program. Good players and a good coach.

You feel better?
