You guys are just making up your own narratives now. MOST on this board wanted Wheeler to play, but in a diminished role from what he had last season. We had been saying it since November. To which for some reason the giant Wheeler guys would just stick their fingers in their ears and say "lalalala YOU JUST HATE WHEELER!" without really listening to what we were saying.
This is me as well. IDK the true story. We do know he has dealt with ankle Injuries this yr. It is odd none of his family represented him on senior day after his " procedure."

A player can quit without saying "I quit." I think this is what happened. You say your ankle hurts, travel with the team to the games, and continue to collect NIL money. At the end of the season, you hit the portal and try at another school. This is the environment that NIL and transfer portal has created. This is the mentality of what we as a society are creating in the young kids...get paid for doing nothing.

Yes, that's what I said (in the second post of this thread) - that he heard he wouldn't play again. I didn't lie about that, because I heard him say that on air several times; if MJ lied, I have no idea.
I would take it a step further and say most saw how crazy it was to have him starting at point at the beginning of last year over TyTy. I remember posting in a thread after the Notre Dame loss I think, about how crazy it was that he was starting over the 5 star freshman that was obviously better. Wheeler was fine in the games he wasn't starting and playing 30+ minutes but there weren't many that was the case. I hope now that the Wheeler era is over we can go back to simply playing the best PG we have on the roster but we will see.

Calipari was complicit was my point...maybe not so direct. My point is still the same...what do you do? Even if you know that Wheeler isn't injured, if you kick him from the team, Wheeler and medical staff say he was injured.And there it is!
