Can't tell if this is good or bad? Not in top 5, but also in consideration?
Is it that hard to understand?? Kid hasn't visited Baylor and Tenessee but have them in his top 5 lol. I don't think he has committable offers from PSU and UT but they are in the top 5. Kid does not want to be here.

Jon Lovitz was in my favorite Tales from the Crypt episode, "Top Billing".

If

If you take a look at the juco rb from Arizona, he and Lovett have similar running style;however, Lovett is taller and has 4 years to play.

Even so, still doesn't change my mind about Lovett. -As I mentioned, he's good back and I wouldn't mind having him, but that said, I simply don't think he's worth all this drama.

And as far as the juco is concerned, I'd rather have a kid who wants to be here for the two years he has left to play than a guy who's got 4 years, but who seems to think he's doing us a favor by keeping us as one of his options.

Again, just my take on this, and I have no problem with it if someone feels differently.

Recruiting is an area in desperate need of overhaul by the NCAA.

You can thank Urban Meyer for that.

You could, but it would be a strange thing to do. He wasn't the one who ended the handshake agreement, if such an agreement ever existed (I doubt it did). For example, Melvin Gordon was a verbal to Iowa and Wisconsin kept recruiting him and flipped him. This was before Meyer was at O$U. This was the first example that came to mind, but was not an outlier.

Wasn't it Bert who lost it over this?

No. Bert lost it over Meyer having NFL players call recruits. This is a NCAA violation. He also complained that Meyer and his staff repeatedly "accidentally bumped" into Kyle Dodson, an OL recruit that O$U was in the process of flipping from Wisconsin, during a dead period.

It got leaked by O$U that the comments were over recruiting Dodson but the NCAA recruiting violations were the actual cause of the comments.

According to this he did:
https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/26428

But seems like every time I have said a recruit received an offer I get replies saying it wasn't a commitable one.
Could be the case here as well.

Yeah, that's the part I don't understand. I'm no expert and I simply follow what the PSU guy on the Rivals site says. I don't think this kid could commit to PSU and he definitely couldn't now. Kind of a weird recruitment actually.

Penn State offered October 24, according to 247, the best source for Penn State recruiting coverage. That said, although it might have for a time, I think it's safe to assume PSU would not accept a commitment from Lovett right now. Too many other guys higher on the board for the 2-3 spots expected to come open before Signing Day.
Lol...........yeah Ok

Don't forget the sleepovers.

I know people are going to say I'm in no position to comment but those just seem weird to me.
You might have bigger issues closer to home, but you are certainly correct that coach sleepovers are creepy.

If I was being recruited, I would go to the school and coaches that really wants me the most.

Kids chose their school roughly using the following ranked criteria:
1) will I start?
2) will the team be a winner?
3) how nice is the campus/the girls?
4) how cool are the coaches/current guys on the team?
5) will I get a good education?

I really hope that we get Darrington. Did some research and he seems to be a good kid. After all the negative press with the former coach, we really need guys like him on the team. The guy has a kick as# GPA and has offers from a few Ivies. He will help our offense and get the team back to a high APR as well. As far as Lovett is concerned, it would be great if he came but Darrington is now a higher priority for me. BTW, Boise State seems to be recruiting him hard.

If starting potential was #1 Ash would have a top 10 class. Winning/culture still trumps all.

They are saying on the Iowa free board that Iowa has moved on from Lovett or he has from them, per their TOS site. They did just offer South Carolina RB commit Kyshaun Bryan, who is going up there for an OV on Jan 27th.

MSU fans feel real good about this one. We only have 1 RB committed and he blew out his acl earlier in the year. If Scott goes pro we lose our top 2 backs after this year.
