Jon Short is awesome. He loves everything UK, and I enjoy hearing his predictions for upcoming games. He's the eternal optimist and picks Kentucky to win every game every year. He's UKs number one fan, in my book.
I think every school has their "Dancing Guy". People cheer him on, and he loves the attention.
If he were to be a risk to himself or others, I believe the university would step in. I say leave him be. He's harmless...

The "Dancing Man" is Darren Moscoe. And if you knew what he had to go through most of his life, I doubt that many of you would be throwing stones. But maybe i'm wrong...

I can't believe all the negative stuff about the dancing man.
The guy loves UK, travels to away games.....he's just a little screwy. He's autistic.
You guys should be more embarrassed by the rednecks wearing jorts and tight sweatshirts in the uppers than the dancing man.

Wow. That is just awful. I can't believe the guys shooting that video didn't just stop the video and quit before it got too embarrassing. To upload that video to the internet thinking they had talent, wow, that is another head scratcher. Some people should be kept far away from a cam as possible.

How awesome would it be to drop Dancing Man right into the blue hairs about 10-15 rows up at mid-court? Surely we can make this happen!
Like Carl Spackler at Bushwood CC.

As a Kentucky fan living out of state I find dancing man a huge embarrassment and a camera-craving imbecile. I wish he'd go away and that the networks would ignore him.

Don't know who John Short is.

I don't mind the dancing guy.

Sorry, but there is so much wrong with the world today, and so many things "embarrassing" about the human existence.

A happy old guy who loves to dance is not one of those things.

He's passionate, he's happy, and he doesn't care what people think.

If the world had more people with those qualities, maybe we'd all be a little happier.

But instead, most seem to enjoy getting all worked up and upset about things that truly do not matter.

But I bet that dancing guy isn't one of them.

Yeah, I guess in the big scheme of things, the dancing guy is small potatoes, but there are some issues. The first time he nose dives onto the concrete, from one of those rails, some ambulance chasing attorney is going to represent him, and file suit, against the university. They have watched him do this, for quite a while, and have not stopped it. Therefore, it is implied consent. There is also the issue of him possibly causing injury to a child, or senior while he is kicking and thrashing around. While I personally don't have a problem with him, I think it would be in the best interest of UK to get him to stop.

Dancing Imbecile needs to be Stopped by the Bluecoats. This happening on national tv is a chronic embarrassment for our program. I place blame directly on the Bluecoats. Are they just and image of security? Have they been neutered? There could be a litany of reasons to stop this behavior. With Dancing Imbecile having been in a hospital in his past he probably has been exposed to MRSA. Having a grown man possibly spreading MRSA to thousands of UK fans while sliding his Anus down handrails Infuriates me to No end. Bluecoats this MUST STOP!

John Short is my man
I wouldnt touch that rail after that idiot slid down that thing. Nasty

The dude is having fun. The people around him are high fiving him. I see nothing wrong with people having fun at a UK game.

Some people complain the "blue hairs" sit on their hands, and then complain when a guy is up cheerleading and dancing and stuff. I guess everyone should just clap in unison while not smiling to much, or smiling too little.

I'm more embarrassed by the middle school mentality of some fans than I am a guy having a blast at a UK game and generating cheers and such. "To each their own", goes both ways.

So you would be all for it if a nudiest colony come to the game and decided it would be a great time for them to strip down buck naked. After all they are having fun and not hurting nobody.

I suppose you will pick up the tab when this coddled fool breaks his neck or severely injures somebody else because he wants to act a fool in front of everybody.

He may only have a few people in the stands (you) that enjoys watching him dry hump like a dog but I'm quite sure others just clap to be polite. Hey maybe you can join him on that rail as well maybe you will get the attention you want.
I'm just waiting for an embarrassing lawsuit to come out of it.

Every fanbase has their weirdos and he's ours. I have worked with disabled people before and he clearly knows what he is doing.

You do realize they both have disabilities right?... let them have their fun and enjoy life ... as a Kentucky fan I'm proud to have both of them has big blue supporters and I could give a crap less what the rest of the nation thinks... Just shows how mean and bitter people have become
I'm with slugger

Neither John nor Dancing Guy have a malicious bone or intent in their body
Let them have their fifteen minutes of fame

I finally read the article. Epilepsy and a brain tumor long ago. Doesn't detail any thing else. I thought he was mentally handicapped? Guess I was wrong.

No, he's definitely not playing with a full deck. You think the paper is straight out going to say he's missing a few marbles? They're both "off".
Im more embarrassed of the people that are embarrassed of them. Be embarrassed that our fans in the lowers don't clap and the fans in the uppers wear overalls.

The dancing man has had some mental problems that he was in the hospital for so before you make fun of somebody maybe you should know the facts.

It's not about making fun it's about being disgusted. Fact is the guy is an embarrassment for the school and the State and should be made to sit in his seat. Even kids with Down Syndrome can be taught what they can and can't do, and therein lies the problem. Dancing Man has not only been encouraged by UK fans but he is then put on TV so the world can bear wittness.

I hate Elvis Presley with a passion. Everything about him screams Nashville redneck music to me. Embarrassment to music. Should we prohibit Blue Elvis from wearing his gear at the games? Naw.

I don't know the story of the dancing guy, but I thought he was mentally retarded from birth. People with mental deficiencies seem to like music and dance around. I don't know why the networks always broadcast the guy though...seems like THEY are making fun of a guy with mental issues. I would think someone who tell them 'please keep the camera off the guy with cerebral palsy' or whatever his issue.

That is why I said earlier, that UK needs to say something to him. We did tell him and the university told us to allow him to continue. That is why I said it was implied consent. They did not tell him he could, but they told us not to stop him.

Is Rupp Arena considered UK property?

Yes. When UK rents it, they set policy. I was told that directly, from Rupp Arena Management, about this exact subject. Rupp was in favor of stopping the "dancing" and UK overruled them.

If John Short could dance this would be a no-brainer.
How do you know he can't dance? Judgemental! Live and let live. It's college sports ... Entertainment. Some of you would complain about the Colorado Buffalo causing problems at their games

John Short I have a hard time understanding as he talks so fast. I just turn the volume down when he comes on and back up in a few minutes when he is done.

Both are oddballs but neither are doing anything to hurt anyone other than some fans' pride. They both seem to be enjoying life which is more than I can say about some folks.

How very, very politically correct.

Dancing Guy is a little bit disturbing but, don't think UK wants to be the one to put a stop to his antics. Can you imagine the negative PR in this hyper-PC world?
