As a Kentucky fan living out of state I find dancing man a huge embarrassment and a camera-craving imbecile. I wish he'd go away and that the networks would ignore him.

Don't know who John Short is.
John Short is a rabid UK fan who calls into just about every edition of every UK talk show known to man. Seems to have an encyclopedic knowlege of UK history, previous games, scores, players etc. He predicts the next game by telling the host how many "bigguns" we're going to win by, which is usually a somewhat outrageous number.

Same here. Personally I do not get the deal with either of them, as they are both kinda goofy, but at least Short has a great memory and you can't see the embarrassment on radio.

The dancing man has had some mental problems that he was in the hospital for so before you make fun of somebody maybe you should know the facts.
I'm pretty sure most on here "know the facts" about dancing guy.

Dry humping a handrail to Billy Idol yelling, "I want more, more more!", is embarrassing even if a special Olympian is doing it.

It is to the Commonwealth's credit that they can treat both John Short and Dancing man reasonably amicably. Yes, Dancing guy is an embarrassment to me. A friend should advise him not to ride the rails. He and John are pretty harmless and are simply trying to enjoy life. John Short spending his days calling in to UK sports programs and working at Kroger is not a life I would choose but he seems happy so let him be. Dancing guy is a bit more problematic for me as what he is doing is pretty rude. His friends should get him to tone it down and make sure he knows he is not the main attraction.

I don't mind the dancing guy.

Sorry, but there is so much wrong with the world today, and so many things "embarrassing" about the human existence.

A happy old guy who loves to dance is not one of those things.

He's passionate, he's happy, and he doesn't care what people think.

If the world had more people with those qualities, maybe we'd all be a little happier.

But instead, most seem to enjoy getting all worked up and upset about things that truly do not matter.

But I bet that dancing guy isn't one of them.

John Short is 50 years old, legally blind, and an award winning swimmer for some organization (maybe special Olympics, but I thought I recall some other group) for disabled swimmers. John Short is a great American, and can quick recall more trivial information than just UK related stuff.

Dancing Imbecile needs to be Stopped by the Bluecoats. This happening on national tv is a chronic embarrassment for our program. I place blame directly on the Bluecoats. Are they just and image of security? Have they been neutered? There could be a litany of reasons to stop this behavior. With Dancing Imbecile having been in a hospital in his past he probably has been exposed to MRSA. Having a grown man possibly spreading MRSA to thousands of UK fans while sliding his Anus down handrails Infuriates me to No end. Bluecoats this MUST STOP!

John Short is my man

I've always wondered how Dancing Guy gets the lower level tickets to Rupp and always seems to show up at the marquee away games. There might be a lot more to his story than we know...

He also calls in to political radio shows.

You can meet him at the Krogers on Eculid Ave. nice guy

I enjoy listening to John Short on the call in shows.

As for the Dancing Man, his antics were fun to watch the first couple of years he did his routine but it's now kind of ran its course. I keep worrying that he may get injured. And he gets a little overboard with his humping, grinding, and sliding. I believe the UK and Rupp staffs should somehow find a way to nicely bring it to an end.

I'd assume he has a rich family or something. Only thing I can think of...or maybe he is rich, but just had the mental issue thing. I'm not even sure what he has, I just remember the story on here several years ago when people were bashing him and then they came out with this story on his mental illness-es and people backed off.

Ran into Dancing Guy at Silver Dollar Saloon in Nashville during the SEC tournament last year... Thought I'd do the polite thing and say hello.... never got a word out of him. I know there's an issue or two there, but I did wonder that maybe his perceived 'celebrity' status may have gone to his head a little bit.

#1 Why is that song still played that he dances to?

#2 Why is it allowed? No one is worried about a lawsuit when he inevitably falls a gets hurt? Maybe afraid of a discrimination lawsuit if they make him stop?

I can't stand the dancing man. Mental problems or not. I cringe when they show him on tv. It has run its course and somebody needs to tell him to sit his butt down. I know if it was me who started dancing in the aisles, the blue jacket nazis would pounce on me like a lion. If the sound person would quit playing mony mony or whatever maybe that would help. A few years is more than enough time to let him have his fun. What would people think if he fell off the hand rail and cracked his head open? Defiantly could happen.

The dude is having fun. The people around him are high fiving him. I see nothing wrong with people having fun at a UK game.

Some people complain the "blue hairs" sit on their hands, and then complain when a guy is up cheerleading and dancing and stuff. I guess everyone should just clap in unison while not smiling to much, or smiling too little.

I'm more embarrassed by the middle school mentality of some fans than I am a guy having a blast at a UK game and generating cheers and such. "To each their own", goes both ways.

Both are oddballs but neither are doing anything to hurt anyone other than some fans' pride. They both seem to be enjoying life which is more than I can say about some folks.

You do realize they both have disabilities right?... let them have their fun and enjoy life ... as a Kentucky fan I'm proud to have both of them has big blue supporters and I could give a crap less what the rest of the nation thinks... Just shows how mean and bitter people have become
