This is a question that I've shared for a few years now. Robic has been with Cal off and on for 30+ years, going back to the UMass days, when Cal, Robic, and Flint built that program from nothing. Robic had always been an integral part of Cal's staff, especially with scouting, game planning, and player development, and known to be a tireless worker. I can't remember when he started stepping away due to his health and family issues, but it was prior to the downturn since 2015. There's many things that may have gone into the decline in our performance since 2015, like Kenny Payne's departure, the feud with Nike, other schools ramping up the cheating, and Cal's own complacency and bench coaching deficiencies, but I have to think Robic not being aound in the same capacity has been a factor.
