What do expect from someone who's been doggied 7 timesThis is not a football board use your eyes. Its a husker board listed under other forums
4 of the top 10 recruits in the country will help that, 3 of which are the top three in the country.Need to work the portal this spring. Losing a lot of talent in Sweet, Sun, Stivrins and Densberger.
But you’re right. It will be hard to replace Stivrins In particular.Need to work the portal this spring. Losing a lot of talent in Sweet, Sun, Stivrins and Densberger.
The Iowa State coach tooWeird, literally sitting wondering the same thing and then seen this thread. Louisville DANI BUSBOOM KELLY
Illinois Chris Tamas
Two that I can think of.
Don’t they get an extra year like football and basketball?Need to work the portal this spring. Losing a lot of talent in Sweet, Sun, Stivrins and Densberger.
Shoot, didn't think of that. My thought was that the seniors are much stronger overall than the Juniors. Some of the younger players look promising, but none seem to be able to dominate at least yet.Don’t they get an extra year like football and basketball?
Our football coach could learn a lot about winning from our volleyball coach
This is really interesting. At the HS level, coaches that were really good at one sport usually were good at the other sports that they coached BUT a lot of that probably has more to do with the talent the school has.Dumb argument. He’d go winless in football. He’s figured out the formula with 18-22 year old, largely affluent young women. He knows how to hire with his sport’s ranks. I don’t know why people think that means he can coach anything. He’s a great leader but there’s way more to it than that to be successful especially when you get to the D1 level. I’m sure there’d some interesting ideas on leadership and program building but they’d be largely anecdotal.
Does anyone know how many of his former assistants are now Head coachs. Side note out of that group who would you be most confident with replacing him when he is done.
Yes. They do. sun has stated she hasn’t decided yet, but is taking this season in as if it’s her last, so that she doesn’t hold anything back. And without there being a major professional opportunity in VB, it wouldn’t shock me if a higher percentage of player take advantage of it and get some more grad classes paid forDon’t they get an extra year like football and basketball?
He most definitely is.i believe he brought back Tyler Hildebrand to start grooming for the head coaching job.
Cook is doing what Petit did when he brought Cook in as an assistant. Hildebrand came back after an year away. Wouldn't surprise if there isn't a succession plan there.Does anyone know how many of his former assistants are now Head coachs. Haley and Jazz have both seen very limited action this year.Need to work the portal this spring. Losing a lot of talent in Sweet, Sun, Stivrins and Densberger.
They can come back if they want, just like fb and bballHaley and Jazz have both seen very limited action this year.
If they’re interested in more PT, it’s not likely to come at NU. They’ve both contributed at times, but Haley has always been a role player and Jazz seems to have lost her spot to Zuhn. And as previously mentioned, the incoming recruiting class won’t make things any easier for them. They can come back if they want, just like fb and bball
Was checking the box score from last night. kubik and Zuhn lead in hitting and killsJohn Cook is not afraid to play the best player regardless of how long they have been in the program. Many incoming players have taken spots from veteran starters over the years. You have to keep earning playing time on the Nebraska Volleyball team. Winking
Can't answer the question but will say, John Cook is an amazing VB Coach and will go down as one of the best ever.Does anyone know how many of his former assistants are now Head coachs. Side note out of that group who would you be most confident with replacing him when he is done.
Barely recognized jazz last night. If they’re interested in more PT, it’s not likely to come at NU. I'm the most confident in the one he has locked up right now. Dude can flat out coach and think he may end up being better than Cook himself.Does anyone know how many of his former assistants are now Head coachs.
