I'd say it probably will and it's his own fault. Vanderbilt probably realized he better commit before him if he knew UK was where he wanted to go. I'm sure we'd still take Knox but I don't think this helps us with him.

You're right, you don't get it. Recruiting ain't over yet for one thing, and for another, is it not possible for players to improve. Sheesh. UK has gotten the #1 class and folks ain't happy. Ever wonder why this job at UK ages coaches so much. This is part of it.
[eyeroll] Yes b/c that is the rational line of thinking . Knox was unlikely regardless and now he is even moreso which is A-ok . If you can get a future lotto pick at SF you do so.
Gonna call it right now....Washington and Vanderbilt give UK the best pair of forwards Cal has had at UK. Basketball is all about creating match up problems and these 2 together will be a match up nightmare for opponents. Do need to go get a wing shooter and shot blocker now (Bamba and ??)
I love this as it eases the pain of the UL loss . So nice to be done with recruiting for the most part . We don't need another big but will get one with Bamba and we need 2 more guards . I want Young but I bet it will be Diallo and a grad transfer who can shoot 40% from 3. Someone like Cuse got in Andrew White this season from Nebraska .
Why? Are you related to him? UK just got a stud player and you're worried about who they didn't get yet. Enjoy it man. UK has the #1 class right now and they're not done. Enjoy what they have, not what they don't.
Cal will take Bamba regardless and should. I also believe Cal will get a couple of guards. THe class he has now is very, very good. I think folks are pining over someone they didn't get, but Bamba is more of a need IMO, plus a couple more guards. Bamab is the one left I truly want for UK. Game changer.
I agree with this but it is important to point out there are only like 2-4 of these guys in every class. We got 2 in next year's class which is amazing. Hell in college now I can name this type of player on 2 hands including Jackson ( ku) Jackson ( UNC) Robinson (UF) .
We damn sure won't be running a three guard lineup next year. Washington is a 4/3 but Vanderbilt is a pure 3 that can play 4 if he needs to. Good pickup. Pretty much takes us out of the Knox running but you don't turn down a guy like Vanderbilt.
I would love to get Bamba and Young. With Bamba added to this interior, we could definitely play with a small backcourt.

I think he is close to a lock with Green on board I was just saying he isn't a need as SKJ/Hump/Tai/Richards ( who is a really really underrated) /PJ/Vanderbilt and possibly WG is an insane front court as it is.
Just watched the entire City Of Palms Classic down here in Fort Myers, I think John Petty was the best player i saw, Kevin Knox was second. both GREAT players

What's nice about this class is Cal may be building for the future. None of these 2017 recruits are necessarily 1AD. Some of them will be back.
That may mean 2017 season could have some bumps.. but 2018, if recruiting goes well, could be a monster year.

How anybody ever gripes about a 5 star player is beyond me...our fan base is ver immature when it comes to getting players

You're right, but I think Cal really wants Bamba and for good reason. I think he sees a version of AD in him. Not a scoring machine but goodness he is so long. Highly intelligent kid. But the line up UK has plus who likely returns will be very talented. Vanderbilt kind os reminds me of MKG and Washington a little like Mash. Not saying they are on that level, but body types and style.
We need defenders at the 3 and 4 spots. Cal has addressed that need with 2'of the best in this class. I would LOVE to have Knox, but he has had more than enough time to commit and has decided to wait.

0% chance we're able to keep Richards on the bench. The talk lately among the recruiting gurus is that Richards will certainly move up, and he's been playing like a top 5 talent. Been playing better than Bamba and Ayton even, as of late. Their words, not mine.
We need Richards and Bamba next to each other.
Yes clearly we need you to advise Cal on his recruiting. His 4 final fours and national title pale in comparison to other coaches the last seven years.
Shooters are nice but basketball players are the key to winning.

LOL , of course I'm not rated to him , but Vanderbilt is a worse version of two players we already have for next year. At this point our best offensive play will be an offensive rebound. Teams will be able to play 5 guys in the paint , pretty hard to drive on that defense. If we sign Young everything changes . If we sign Diallio it gets worse . We got the no.1 class in the country but the pieces don't fit .
