In the current system, Pike needs to learn how to re-recruit his best players to get them to stay with his program.
What if the player that fans believe is an impact player, isn't a positive influence with your younger players or staff??
What if the player already decided half through the season being played, that they're contacting other schools, letting them know they're going to transfer??
Do you honestly think that every player decides abruptly and only at the very end of the season, that they're going to transfer??
The concept or re-recruiting your own players is 100% coachspeak, to cover your bases with the fans and media. Coaches rarely if ever publicly trash a player that transfers, they give the canned answer etc.
Young was never, ever at any point in time, going to be the 1st or 2nd option on any Power 5 program anywhere. He is a player best suited on a title contending program, as your 1st guard off the bench, to bring energy and outplay the bench of your opponents. And that doesn't mean Young wasn't valuable, but if he is creating negative energy and chaos, mixed with selfish me 1st offense, then he's better off with a fresh start.....that's what happened at Texas, that's what happened at RU. Shaka Smart and Pike are extremely, coach friendly, player-friendly coaches. If you're struggling with those 2 coaches, it's 99.9% the player, not the coaching staff.
