Didn't realize this was even a ? considering the plan he was on-he was actually going to just sit/RS and not make up some story to play like 99% of the transfers were doing. I have a 5th cousin who lives in Hawaii and has a bunion, so need to move from Rhode Island to Kentucky to be closer to them.

Expect a big season from him and he's got the most upside of the tweener forwards that clogged the roster.

I don’t think people counted him as officially coming back because we expect an announcement from each player instead of a guy coming back with no statement at all lol .

Yeah, but we have seen worse players leave after 2 years of college. Briscoe and EJ immediately come to mind.

Genuinely curious- why is an announcement necessary? It’s just frustrating. There are 348 other teams that don’t have to wait in anxious anticipation for “announcements” from literally every single player to see if they’ll be returning. Especially players like Toppin.

It’s great that he’s back. Truly but the fact that we now get excited for a player lioe
Toppin to return shows how broken Calipari’s model is. We will still be losing majority of our team and scoring.

I will say I believe we’re going to go a bit above 500 next year so that’s good?

Outside of IJ he’s our next best pro prospect IMO I honestly thought he was gonna test the nba and get feedback and then make a decision. Much happier he took this route. We’ve been burned too many times in the past like that.

Good to hear. It looks like we at least have some good pieces returning so far.

Devin Askew
Dontaie Allen
Jacob Toppin
Lance Ware
Oscar Tsiebwe

That could be a starting 5 if needed. Now, I'd love to see Mintz and Brooks come back. Not holding my breath on Jackson, but it would be awesome if he'd take his name out of the draft and come back to become a lottery pick next season.

4 for 4. I dont know why people are still finding reasons to force themselves to be upset.

Askew, Allen, Ware, Toppin.. during the transfer protocol, no less. And we still haven't lost anyone out of the 4 expected.

I know these names aren't going to set the world on fire, but its exactly what we all wanted. 4* talent returning to build a foundation, while still getting 5*s.

This could be going so SO much worse, btw.

Because at Kentucky it’s a miracle if a player decides to come back and not transfer or enter the NBA.

If Askew is our starting point guard it will be another bad season.

He didn’t make an announcement. He was asked a question and gave a one word answer. About as far away from an announcement as you can get.

But please, continue...

Good news.

In this day and age they ain’t coming back until they say they are coming back.

Weird world we live in, but it’s not just UK anymore. With the new transfer rule nobody is guaranteed to stay at any school.

He could be a good fourth of fifth option for a big man. I don’t really see the great potential here.
