And also have them giving up more points then those 3 games. I'm expecting a shootout.

Well I hope we can score more than those teams. I don't know about a shootout as both teams want to control the game and pound the rock. IMO, will come down to turnovers and penalties as neither team can afford to get into 2nd/3rd and longs.

Well West Craven isn’t Wallace Rose Hill.
With all do respect WRH isn't West Craven either. Styles make fights. That's not a knock on WRH either. They are a very good team and still a dominate 2A team. West Craven has more wrinkles on offense. They are not a one trick pony. I think West Craven gives Havelock a better game than some people in some talking circles think.

WRH still played the Rams pretty damn tough with multiple starters out in addition to the turnovers. I don't like the match-up for WC. Wrinkles are cool until you get punched in the mouth.

Fact is, I haven't seen the physicality in Havelock as in years past. Wooten doesnt have a great record against WC in recent years. Could be a stigma there. If there is one thing I have seen from WC is that they can take a punch to the mouth. They have a QB that can delivery haymakers and the ability to knock good teams out. Will the oline show up and give the QB situations to throw those punches is the question.

I'm not going to judge him by what he did with lesser athletes at GC. What good teams has the QB knocked out this year? I don't trust that O-line against the Rams front 4.

Bears I agree. I hope WC plays big and gets the wins. Don't think Havelock overlooks WC tho. If Havelock plays with heart like they did friday, they should be alright.

If Maxpreps is correct, that would be more than they scored against SWO, East Duplin and Kinston.
Well like I said before. From what I saw Kinston was a real solid football team. The best that we have faced so far. East Duplin and SWO will go deep in the playoffs. Cards played probably their worst and still found a way to win. ED and SWO scores are a little misleading when you take TD’s off the board that were called back. No matter what the Cards always play New Bern tough. Now that the bears seem to be getting back to winning ways Friday we will find out where both teams are. This is a very solid bunch on defense. They fly to ball and when they get there they get there angry and with allot of aggression. New Bern ball carriers better like contact because they will get plenty of it. They have forced like 12 fumbles in the first three games. Ball carriers are getting punished. Should be a good one. Hope that it’s injury free for both teams.

I said the ability to knock good teams out. Also, where did I say West Craven will win? I do think they will score more than 7 points. Like dogs said Havelock would be wise not to look past them. As for Wooten having more athletes that is true but he hasn't shown he knows how to use their full potential yet. Havelock is not a big physical team. I may be wrong here, but I dont think West Craven is intimidated one bit by them. Hey, Havelock could blow them out and I may be wrong. I wouldnt say it's a fore gone conclusion though.

I didn't say that you said they would win. Ability is good, but we need to actually see him do it. Havelock won't be looking past a County opponent. The Rams usually don't have a big team, but they're always quick. I think Havelock wins by 2-3 scores.

Oh the Bears love some contact. You're not playing for this Head Coach otherwise. NB's leading rusher will bull doze you over behind the two 6'3 300 linemen. The D loves to fly around the ball and gang tackle. Should be a good one.

I think 2 scores is a fair prediction. We have to stop living in the past when it comes to Havelock though. Just like I dont live in past talking about New Bern. It's still early, I just take it game by game and see what unfolds. Alot of teams are still works in progress.

I agree New Bern has turned into a machine under Nowell. Their confrence hasn't seen the power running game in recent years like New Bern will bring this year. They have to be the favorite right now.

Not living in the past at all as I trust my eyes. If it was the Havelock last year, I would've said 4-5 scores. The Freshman QB is getting more comfortable after each game and the RB can take it to the crib every play.

I'm the same way. I trust my eyes as well. With the offense West Craven runs they are capable of holding their own in a shootout. Dont think there is much to be had for West Craven on the edges in the run game or pass game. Havelock is just too athletic. We will see if West Craven comes with the right gameplan.

Getting back to the game at hand....I apologize Footballaholic3232 for getting off track on your thread. I think Jacksonville and New Bern will be looking to do alot of the same things on offense. Both teams will look to wear down the defense with a physical run game and take some shots with big plays at the end of the game. Whichever team is more successful at doing this will get the big W. I dont think any team scores over 30 points in my opinion. It's a tough game to predict who will win but I think Nowell has those kids coached up and that pays dividends in any matchup. New Bern by a touchdown but I really think it could go either way

Going to be a great game, I for one am glad to see New Bern doing well again. We here in Jville know how tough it is during the down years. Welcome back, it's going to be fun.

I agree I'm glad they are back it can only make the conference stronger. Looks like the Cards and Havelock have a chance to join the conference next relignment. Not sure how you guys feel about that?

Will that put us with Rose and Conley? I figured we would be with Topsail and New Hanover in some capacity, being that the other 3 Wilmington high schools are huge. Should be interesting...Im ok with whatever.

What is your prediction???
Otis my friend you know all the years I have been on here I have never once predicted a score or have said Jacksonville will win. All I can say is that the Cards will show up and play hard. They play like they are capable of playing they have the opportunity to have a special season just like last season. Allot of folks think this years squad is nowhere near the group from last season. Trust me just as much talent. Just the team strength this year is defense instead of offense. However there are enough play makers and athletes on offense who can hurt you when need be. If teams can line up and try and stop the run if they like. Unlike other seasons mr Varner steps in at QB he can sling it. When Tymir is at QB you better not miss a tackle or it’s curtains he will hit his head on the goal post. Should be a classic.

Yeah, it's always entertaining to see a student who looks 27 get punched in the face when planting a flag on the opposing field. Straight out of an 80s maybe if you ask me.

That’s just it. The kid was part of the cheer squad basically. He had that flag at every game. lol. Of course they didn’t hit our big dlineman or the committed D1 or D2 players.lol Anybody that’s been to a Conley game knows how obnoxious the Conley kids are. I still get a kick out of it though of how tough Conley claims to be.

Wish I had your kool aid, The offense just not in sinc seem more athletic than line in past but they look lazy too many mistakes the defense looks tough.
