He ABSOLUTELY wants Cal to fail. When Duke was up by 9 on Mich St., he got giddy and said "Duke is destroying MSU and will advance to win their third title in the Cal era."

After Duke lost, he pouted for a day or so and has since started more threads in the last month than he did in the previous year+. But hey, he's been here longer than us so that makes him a good poster.....[laughing]
It's a case of anything that supports his agenda he's for it even if it means bad fortune for the cats. I also remember he said something along the lines of he would trade our players and coach for dukes. This is a good indication of what kind of trash poster this guy is.

He said he'd rather have K and his players....He said that because he knew it would get people worked up, which he admitted he likes to do. Just picture an admitted grumpy old man with no human contact that lives through the internet. Sick and sad. I'm done with it. He likes the attention. If you sat down next to him at a bar and he started talking, you'd get up and sit somewhere else so no need to humor him here.

Why don't you talk to Cal and tell him his recruiting sucks? I wait for you to get back to us and let us know what he says.
I never said his recruiting sucks. That’s absurd. But I don’t agree with how he builds a roster. You need continuity somehow.

Cmon Cal, go git some talented players or get FARRR'D
While all good players, none are elite. And considering what we have returning, we needed elite to have a chance at a title.

So we will probably lose 7-10 games and lose in ten S16-E8 then lose Maxey, Whitney, EJ, Hagans, IQ (draft or transfer), Richards (draft or transfer). We keep Allen mainly due to him being hurt and missing the season and we might get Brooks back for another year.

Rinse and repeat.

I would disagree. Hagans and EJ will be much improved and I like the additions. We aren’t playing 2019 KY we are playing 2020 everyone else. I wouldn’t mind one more big but think it will be a fun team to watch.
Guy says the players we have coming in aren't better than the guys leaving. Your immediate argument to that is EJ and Hagans(who are neither players coming in or leaving) will be much improved next season. Wow you should be like a politician or political adviser.

So how did that work out for Duke the past two years. Good 4 star players don’t what to sit the bench but they are not elite either.

I don't want to be mean, but you are WAY off the mark here.

First off, Cal telling Ulis not to come here if he's expecting to be here 3+ years was his way of saying "I want you to come here with the goal of working your way to the league as fast as you can". That type of work ethic, in turn, helps UK win basketball games. He didn't say it meaning "if you are a 3-year player then I don't want you".

Second, Cal doesn't recruit based simply on measurables/NBA potential. If that were the case he would have never backed off the guys he did over the past five or so years. Yes, he wants the best talent, but he only wants the talent he thinks will fit with the team and his style of coaching/play. Many a great NBA prospect was either dropped off the recruiting radar by Cal or simply never recruited in the first place for one reason or another.

Keep swinging though. You'll make contact one of these days.
Cal’s recruiting has fallen off compared to what he was doing when he first got here. Now we’re getting second tier recruits that still leave after one year and they’re not great during that one year so we’re getting very little investment back. I think it’s ok to question Cal’s philosophy even if you don’t agree with it. His weight is not the only way or even the best way if the benchmark is titles.

You got the answer to everything. Did you see Duke's free throw percentage?
The Rat usually has good shooters and it’s won him 5 titles. He’s now jumped all in on the OAD circuit where you have superior athletes but usually not the best shooters. What did we say was going to get Duke beat this year? Shooting. And it did get them beat.

The quality of our team will be determined by all those factors. What left, what comes and what develops. True every year.

Baker comes in injured. UK pays for all surgery and rehab and he says thanks I am outta here. Should be forced to pay back to the school all expenses.

I love discussing UK basketball. I am sorry that we cannot disagree like grown men and women. Immature kids start calling you names and trolls and using profanity. I am assuming the mods agree with them or they would ban them. Amazing to me that you cannot express your opinion without being labeled. Maybe just a product of this generation of kids
This is the one major thing I hate about this board. The childish name calling of posters that disagree with other posters. I know one thing, they dare not do it in real life, but they feel safe here. It only shows their mental ability, which is next to zero. Grown people can agree to disagree without being disagreeable,or should be able to. I literally think the worst abusers of name calling are actually around 12 years old.

It feels like the fan base is a bit...divided.
I think we all hopefully want the same thing we are just divided on whether or not Cal’s current method will get us there. If you disagree with Cal’s current method or 5-6 of the young ins on here you are a bad ole man and a troll. I have taught school for nearly 40 years so I can handle kids.

I agree with you. And the majority of fans get it. Not sure it’s quite as doom and gloom as you suggest, but the threshold we are looking at is whether UK has the pieces to win a title.

For next year I’m inclined to believe the answer is no. But it’s impossible to even know what the roster will be at this point. So we wait and see.

Maybe i am a bit over the top. Let’s hope for some roster surprises.

I think the OP's point is that we are currently losing 5 guys and bringing in 5. We have spots available to fill.

Are you a 7th grader. This is the way they talked when I taught them. Do you have your homework finished? Have you brushed your teeth? Good, lights out. The men want to talk serious basketball. Night night jr.

It takes a man to talk serious. You seem to be more a cry baby than a man.
Curfew violation. Now you will be put in time out. What did you think about Issel? What was the best game you saw him play? Why do you think we lost to Texas Western in 1966. Who was UK’s first African American player? Did you like seeing the Cats destroy Duke in 78? Let’s discuss
