There are certain things I’m not going to participate in. Trans craziness, DEI, open borders to name three. Doesn’t mean others can’t, be my guest. But if a politician supports any of those in any way I will not vote for them. Period. Those three things have done exponentially more harm than good imho. Men shouldn’t be in women’s sports or spaces. People shouldn’t get preferential treatment for skin color. Laws to enter our country should be followed. That’s as common sense as I can get. It baffles me to see people say, they agree with those positions, even just one of them, then vote D.
It's just bizarre to me as a liberal to see the maga obsession with trans, such a tiny portion of the population. If you were to spend time with me and my family and friends, you would never hear us talking about that issue -
ever, yet you constantly harp on Dems and trans craziness, trans support, yada, yada, yada, like we sit around and have genital chopping parties all day - it's just dumb.
It's as simple as this - most of us liberals are "live and let live types" and we don't want the government to have any control over our bodies or our lifestyles or anyone else's - including yours. I don't want the government legislating whether you can get a Trump tattoo, liposuction or a penis extension if you want one, because you are the only one who knows what makes you happy and I nor any governmental body should interfere with that. I also believe that the majority of trans truly feel like they are trapped in the wrong body and would be miserable for life if they weren't allowed to do what only they know would make them happy.
I've told this story before but we had a national company meeting a few years back and I was sitting at a table with a guy I had known only through Zoom and he was probably the happiest and funniest person I've ever met - he kept us in stitches all night long. He had a full beard and never demanded we call him by any pronoun but it was obvious that he was a he. Only later did someone tell me he was trans but I would have never known otherwise as he had a full beard and presented as a man in every way. He was one of the best human beings I've ever met and he harmed no one. I'm confident that the majority are the same way so who am I to hate them or treat them harshly or vote Pub because of the "trans issue" when his being trans was simply innocuous to me. It didn't affect my life at all.
It's just ridiculous to me to see the amount of emotional capitol you spend harping on that issue when they're just human beings who want to be happy and not be threatened by you or the angry political movement you support.
So be baffled all you want but that's your problem, not mine.
