He also said we were looking good for Cade

I’m in the camp that believes it was true; that it was looking good for UK and they had a shot. Numerous others also believed this and reported it; specifically, recruiting guys connected behind the scenes who are not national names or work for certain recruiting websites.

Ultimately, his brother was the reason others did not back away from their OSU predictions. In the end, this was the obvious reason he chose to go to OSU.

We'll see when he announces. That's about all that needs to be said on any recruit, in my mind.
Unless you are on a message board where people come to talk about this exact thing . But you aren't wrong in the real world . Internet aint that LOL .

I can't be the only one who thought of Cal when Cade announces and then all of sudden Jackson makes a set date ? Cal is the master at softening a blow . But maybe I am wrong .
Jackson is not near the talent Cade is.May be good in his second year but doubt he does much as a frosh.

Unless we get E.J. and Nick back, possibly Juzang or Khalil/Keion, it feels like this 2020-2021 team could be similar to a couple we’ve had over the last few years; particularly, the Fox/Monk-led squad. It just seems like we could end up missing just one crucial piece—again—that could take them from a title contender to a true favorite to win it all. But, we’ll see.

Im convinced none of these guys know anymore about recruits than you or I.
What a racket.
They don’t. What I think happens is the players inner circle leaks crap to certain media to build the hype and some misdirection. We the fans fall for it every time. Cal needs to let his assistants know not to be so gullible when it comes to players telling them stuff and learn to sift through the bull crap.

Okay, those who "aren't impressed" with Jackson, the consensus five star power forward in a very good class, what are the scouts missing that you've evaluated in his game via YouTube most likely?

I think for a lot of people it’s about his offensive skillset. It’s not as polished as others ranked higher than him and the disappointment from National guys this year is that it didn’t really seem to progress through the summer like they anticipated.

On the other end of the spectrum, though, he’s a high-motor guy with good length and athleticism. He’s solid defensively and has a lot of upside in terms of shot-blocking ability.

At the same time, he understands who he is and he sticks to his strengths to impact the game positively. I like him, I like his game and what he brings to the table; especially, in terms of a high-tempo pace that gets up-and-down the floor. Surround him with a couple shooters and wings who can attack the basket, and you’ve got an athletic four who can utilize their dribble penetration to benefit his athletic ability around the rim.

I would certainly welcome his commitment!

It seems so odd that none of these guys seem to pay attention to what AD and KAT are doing in the league.

So nobody wants to be the next multi-millionaire former Cat big man?

Seems crazy to me.

I’m sure they do pay attention (how could you not?! Lol), but they all have their own reasons for going elsewhere.

Honestly, as hard as it may be to believe, our success with numerous guys has probably pushed kids to other schools. It’s a lot to live up to for young kids in terms of our lineage of quality players who are considered the upper-echelon of the NBA. It takes a special guy with a certain mentality to WANT that pressure and the high-level expectations that come with it.

Isnt he like 6-9 200lbs?

Pass.

Indeed, that’s what numerous sites have him listed as. He is somewhat undersized in terms of his body weight. However, over the next year or so he could easily add 10-20 lbs. of quality weight; no doubt he has the physical frame for this.

Also, he’s at least a 2-3 year player, he will be in college longer than a single season. That’s a lot of time to develop and grow for a young kid. Regardless, the potential and upside is there.

First year in college he’s a role player (at least at Kentucky) who is a nice piece to have and develop; the physical aspects of his body should develop accordingly.

He just reminds me of Marcus Lee in so many ways. Which isn’t a terrible thing, but I wouldn’t lose any sleep if he doesn’t pick Kentucky.
