When I played basketball our defense was to be in your opponents jock strap. You can’t play aggressive tight defense without some contact.
And that has nothing to do with the subject at hand.... but thanks... it is good to see you still insist it was not a foul despite visual evidence. Melendez was nowhere near being "in his jock strap".. he ran from far away and recklessly bashed Ron's upper arm. He was lucky no ref got a good view of it. This was not "some" contact. It was hard contact that resulted in a turnover.. he didn't even get the ball.. though, as several here have said several times... it happened so fast that it would have been hard for anyone to see what happened... but in that situation, good officials would have anticipated that action and saw it happen and called it. Melendez surprised everyone.

Funny, I didn’t mention the foul.

really? do you really think no one reads the thread.. just posts crap? You have liked every post saying NO FOUL and have argued it often in this thread. Your recent reply to me was just another way of saying it was not a foul because of "jock straps" and "contact".
Not even close to being a foul and certainly not a dirty play.

Wow. You are tracking what posts I like. I don’t know whether to feel complimented or screeved out.
no.. I read this thread. "Following" people with which you often disagree is rather pathetic. But when seeing a post that says "NOT A FOUL" with no offer of evidence.. I did notice who "liked" that post.. also with no offer of evidence.

He’s angry because of exactly what you said . He’s angry at what he sees coming out of the Ukraine. He’s angry for the fact that our children and grandchildren will be under extreme pressures caused by idiots who are in charge. Evil people … there is no other description for it…He’s angry about the inability for so many others to see through the total ineptness of those we elect to protect us all. He’s angry for all those who served and fought to give these freedoms we take for granted. He’s angry at those that attempt to sh$t on others for political gains. Other than that he’s great… GO RUTGERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Richard Schnyderite can you please ban these people who inject politics non stop into RU threads?

Even if Ron is "OK" that type of injury could be very tender and vulnerable to taking a bad hit in many ways on the court. I wouldn't be surprised or disappointed if he DNP vs. Perdue. As another poster put it, we're kinda playing with house money out there tomorrow.
It would be a shame if he cannot play because he is our one player that seems to have Purdues number.

Back when I used to play pick up ball I jammed my finger a few times. It hurt. But it was like a medium hurt. I played through the pain because I'm super tough. I think. Also I couldn't shoot the ball so nobody would have noticed. It was like 25 years ago. So there you have it...my super relevant to the topic personal anecdote.

7 pages on the “Is Ron Okay” thread, and still no one knows…only here..lol.
Okay.. as I was going over video of the injury I noticed that as he shook his hand out just after there was gap between middle and ring fingers and he motioned like he was going to grab his ring and pinky.. but did not as he had to rebound the ball. And looking at his injured hand on the rebounded ball.. it looked to be in normal position... of course, he went to lockerroom in bad pain after that.... but what control in that moment.. to grab that rebound.

this was blown up from rough video still.. but nothing obviously out of place to my ignorant eye. Hmm... would there be more spread between thump and pinky in a normal rebound.. make the hand very wide? I suppose the larger the hand the less need there is for that.. Ron has it pretty good there... despite the pain.

is RHJ going to be a game time decision or will they announce earlier? Any insight?

been there, done that. turned it 90 degrees at knuckle.
I did the same thing to my pinky in a football game. Hurt bad but our trainer put his back to me, pulled my arm in front of him so I couldn’t see what he was doing, popped it back into place and then taped it to the ring finger and I only missed a few plays.

Another time, I thought I just jammed my index finger in a pickup basketball game but it wound up being broken and that was a cast for six weeks. Thank God that is not the case with Ron.
