ravens cut their roster down to 53 on August 30th. one week before our opener.
definitely i hope he makes it with the ravens of course but in the event that he decides to return he’ll be in top physical condition
Just saw TE waived by the browns heading to LSU. Played at ole Miss guess kiffin had reached out to browns coach unsuccessfully. Im not a fan of players getting waived returning to college but feel like after we got hosed with Drew Ott and Noah Shannon ncaa owes us this one if he gets cut.
They targeted Shannon in a real sketchy way, depriving he and the program of a DT. I figure we are owed one.
Complicated. Under the most recent court ruling, he is ineligible.
It's not complicated, it's an abject mess. State and Federal laws in play against one another, States doing their own thing.
What it will come down to is if the SEC weighs in and says no go because of intraconference transfer rules.
every 2022 player will be eligible if they choose to go through a state court judge, that is what is happening. Graves and his attorney would just need to file with a local Iowa judge.
Per the Kakert podcast, they just need to file a Temporary Restraining Order at the state level and they are eligible. He also said Iowa has reached out to Graves camp. He’s unlikely to make the 53 man roster and practice squad members max out at $250k. This seems more likely than not to me at this point…
I honestly have no idea how impecunious the Iowa NIL fund is.
Can somebody enlighten me? Do we have the $$ to "outbid" the $250,000 practice squad salary?
I am sure we have a list of say a dozen donors that are the immediate calls and probably have stated if you need XYZ, call me.

NO they can't "enlighten you" which is been my point from the start. posters here keep saying we can outpay what he'd make on the practice squad. 1) we don't know that. 2) IF he makes the practice squad he could get called up, or even move to another team and sign a new contract during the season.

If you put Graves next to Hawthorne, this defense suddenly becomes awfully tough to score on. 10-2 becomes much more attainable.

We've gone after some high profile QB's and other high end recruits a couple of years ago, and supposedly haven't had the $$$ to play in that pool. So what, now we have the money? Considering the DT is probably the biggest area of need( unless the 4 guys they brought in do well, which they just might), if the moneys there for the asking, then what's happened in past years? Are these all NEW donors?
