there are a plethora of threads on this subject on this and the Swarm forum, with numerous different opinions, as usual.

my two cents worth? I would not count on it. just not likely.

although we could all use an early Christmas present.

Complicated. Under the most recent court ruling, he is ineligible.
It's not complicated, it's an abject mess. State and Federal laws in play against one another, States doing their own thing.

What it will come down to is if the SEC weighs in and says no go because of intraconference transfer rules.

Per the Kakert podcast, they just need to file a Temporary Restraining Order at the state level and they are eligible. He also said Iowa has reached out to Graves camp. He’s unlikely to make the 53 man roster and practice squad members max out at $250k. This seems more likely than not to me at this point…

$250k is an easy buy and he would get more experience and exposure.

I honestly have no idea how impecunious the Iowa NIL fund is.

Can somebody enlighten me? Do we have the $$ to "outbid" the $250,000 practice squad salary?
NO they can't "enlighten you" which is been my point from the start. posters here keep saying we can outpay what he'd make on the practice squad. 1) we don't know that. 2) IF he makes the practice squad he could get called up, or even move to another team and sign a new contract during the season.

If you don't know this, I don't know what to tell you
Lolol,, cmon on . That's a cop out. Of course you "don't know what to tell me", because you don't know. That statements even sillier than the last one. You're sure? We've gone after some high profile QB's and other high end recruits a couple of years ago, and supposedly haven't had the $$$ to play in that pool. So what, now we have the money? Considering the DT is probably the biggest area of need( unless the 4 guys they brought in do well, which they just might), if the moneys there for the asking, then what's happened in past years? Are these all NEW donors?

I could be wrong but isn't the injunction currently only for athletes that filed? Not a blanket "anyone that wants the year is eligible," as well as being strictly against the NCAA eligibility rule and nothing else. The big ten adding a rule would require a judge to find against both organizations. Which is still definitely possible but it's one extra layer.

Just find the right judge and they can make it happen

I think the courts are once again over stepping their boundaries. Not sure they actually have any jurisdiction in some of these cases they're weighing in on.

Its possible the courts can say they have eligibility, but they can't force the specific conferences to accept them back. Basically if the B1G and SEC say were not allowing these players back, they don't have to.

Then the player sues them for monetary damages. Go to a jury trial.

what's the logic? i am all for a amateur student scholar league but this does nothing to accomplish that. all this does is hand the sec back an unlevel playing field

I think the hopes would be that the SEC would follow suit and do the right thing. We’ll have to sit back and wait and see if that happens.
