Do not start Myles... Our history with Iowa says they are going to get a bunch of calls.. especially if we see Borosky out there. Last year we protected Myles from being targeted early by not starting him.
For me, as coach, this would be a tough call.
I totally get what you're saying and from what I recall, not starting him has had the benefit you're talking about in the past. So there is some precedent there to consider.
However, I'd be a little wary of messing with something that has been working well the past few games. We've had really good starts to our games the past few games, jumping out to early leads with the latest iteration of the starting lineup. And IIRC, Myles has been part of that starting five. And he's also been avoiding foul trouble in those games, for the most part.
Another thing w/subbing that we've all noticed is that when Pike subs in Young, Cliff and Mathis at the same time, we've had a substantial drop-off and given up a lot of the early leads we've built up with the starting five.
So I think I'd start the same starting five as the past couple/few games, but then sub out individual players based on how the players to be subbed are playing. If all else is equal, I'd sub Cliff in for Myles first, and relatively early - let Cliff play with the starters which should help make Cliff more productive. In particular, Mulcahy has been good at getting Cliff the ball where he can score.
Young is a key to this game. The past few games, he's been playing with too much ego at times, trying to force things. He needs to do the things that make the other four players on the court better first. Feed the post instead of trying to split two defenders with the dibble. That will pull whoever's guarding him off a bit to help defend the post and open things up for him so he can really shine.
